Shopping winches right now actually.

I like the Warn 9.5xp.

Someone convince me it's worth the extra $700 over an M8000? I don't see many situations where the 9.5xp would be better than *two* M8000s...so I just don't see the value...

I didn't pay that much, plug I got the synthetic line and a wireless controller. Pay attention to the amps pulled and line speed. Here is what I got directly from a warn tech when I was asking (of course they would recommend the more expensive one)

If this is mainly for hard off-roading, I would suggest the 9.5XP. That winch model is sealed and with the heavier solenoids on the power-in circuit and the larger fin cooled motor you will get longer pull times when operating the winch.

With the exception of probably Warn, Super and Ramsey, they all are! Same factory, different QA and specs - Just like any other product that is massed produced... TVs, VCRs, etc.

The best thing is they are local so whatever you buy from them you can just return there if it has warranty issues without paying an arm and leg for shipping.

Yeah, can't go wrong with shitty improperly sealed solenoids, stripping gears, and easy to break remotes. Great winch.
