    Spindle Gussets

Okay, so I have been very lucky so far but it is time for me to get some gussets on my front end - I tweaked them out in the desert a couple of trips ago.

Although I will probably leave the sway bar off this time, I would like to be able to put it back on when Drew sells his push button release or I make some disconnect like the FJunkie has.

So my dilema is that I have these since a guy sold them to me years ago for $20. I just never installed them. The good thing about these are that they allow me to not have to run spacers - although I would probably have to use some spacers to use my Rud chains.

Alternatively I could use these but they require 1 1/2" spacers and probably 2" spacers to use the Rud chains.

I hate to admit it, but I'm leaning towards the AP ones for 2 reasons. $ and back spacing challenge.

Although I will not post a poll 'cause bacon won't strengthen my front end, I would like to hear from anyone using either of these alternatives!

    More pics of the beef:

I have the old school TC gussets.. I suppose if I had to run chains I would have to do some grinding on the portion that comes close to the tires. BTW, the new ones look BOMBPROOF!!

Like this.. you could then box in that section to the factory spindle arm

Oh yeah, I'd call all over to get the older TC's vs. buying the AP's.

I really don't like the idea of 2" spacers but has anyone used them for extended periods with no problems?

2" is a bit much.. I have some 1.25's on the Raisin and I had the Spidertrax 1.25's on the Taco for a while. But 2".. I'd hate to be that guinea pig.

Difference between 1.25" and 2" is alot. The torque equation weights distance exponentially. And since the 2nd gen Tacos eat bearings anyway, I wouldn't do it

It is amazing how many drop ship sites there are that sell the same shit as the mfgrs but charge as much as 150% more. Sucker born every day.

That's what I'm worried about - and I haven't had bearing issues yet but I am thinking I will swap bearings at the same time - even though I have pampered my ride for the last 50k.

Interesting but I don't know how much additional strength you would get with these puppies - they look like they would just load the forces into that bend area!

The Blue Room post said that Demello installed these "TC" gussets. I guess they cut em and welded them up!

You mean the area that's bolted to the upper ball joint? I don't see a problem with that
