    Help me pick an axle

Well, I keep going back and forth about which axle I want to run.......I go from anting a 60 to wanting a 44 to wanting a hybrid axle.

I was set on a Toy custom front end, then decided it was too weak.

I was then set on a 44, then decided it wasn't reliable enough.

I was set on a 60, then realised that if I wasn't running a 40" tire then it was a waste and it would have zero clearance with a 37.

Now I'm set on a Hybrid 60, 60 outers with a fj80 HP third with 4.88's and an ARB. Now the only ones I find are 62 WMS which is way too narrow and they are only offered from Allpro and I'm not giving them my monies.

Basically I want a low 3 link, with a 35" tire and probably will run a 37 in the future. I want an ARB, and I want this setup to be reliable enough to DD but strong enough to get the job done.

Discuss.......tax time is coming and I'm ready to get the ball rolling.

That build that was on the webz that used coil spring setup was bad ass. Sat real low and had a mile of droop.

think so. looked like a ton of work that was done on that truck but I liked that it didnt sit a mile in the air. Main thing that I remember about it, that I didnt like, was he notched the frame to clear the pitman arm. That truck.

Those axles are also a possibility......But I like the 8"/60 better.

Those diamond axles are badass, but take a while to get built, I remember all the problems Jordon had with them when he was doing his SAS

Whats wrong with the Currie Rock Jock? I bet they can build it to order how you want.. no coil buckets or link mounts.

It's huge first of all........and on a 35" tire it would leave me with minimal clearance.

I'f I was going with a 40" tire that would be my first choice.

I thought Curries deal with the rock jock was increased ground clearance? Giving you the strength of a 60 with the ground clearance of a 44. Its early and I'm tired so maybe I'm smoking crack.. but I thought that was their marketing dealio.

I guess their marketing is that its the highest clearance 60 on the market.

Rock Jock is a good choice d60 beef with d44 clearance. My other choice would be a toy 8.4 or lc9" with d60 outers and the inners broached for the 35 spline 1.5" d60 inners. This axle would also have stock d60 dimensions to utalize stock length 60 shafts and balljoint unit bearing knuckles. But all that would likely end up costing as much as the rock Jock and still be weaker than it due to the low pinion I would say use the high pinion third but those can't be broached for 35 spline
When times get tough - fat people get skinny and skinny people die.
