    Snow Mobilies?

Looking for other things to do while in Montana next month and gonna try to hit some trails on a snow machine. I talked to place that rents them and I am probably going to try them out for a day.
Does anyone have experience with how capable they are? The outfitter said we will have avalanche packs with shovels if we get adventurous and have to dig out a sled. Are these things like an ATV, meaning they will go pretty much anywhere or should I stay out of the soft powder?
I will bring my camera so the fun can be documented and shared.

If you go off roading and you don't break something or get stuck - were you really off roading???

Never rode a snow bike, but it seems like it would be fun(and cold as fuck). I say go for it, get a feel for it before you go ass wild and have fun.

Cold as fawk is a given. The wind chill today didn't make it to positive numbers. The low tonight is around zero. I don't think it will warm up much by the time I get there.
On a related note, I bought some sweet Dakine gloves with Gortex so my hands should stay kinda warm.

Go everywhere. Keep momentum in the soft powder & don't be afraid to lean it over like a jetski when needing to turn

Yeah, I've seen people drive them across ponds, so you should be good to go on just about anything. Rock or ice would kinda suck though

They are heavier than atv's. Like they said above, keep your speed up and leaning is the best part. Esp roosting your friends with 20lbs of snow in the face.
