ultraguage/scangauge for speedometer on 1st gen runner?

i have a busted speedo cable in my 89 runner, and it has a 98 taco engine with a OBD2 port...

can i use a scangauge/ultragauge to still give me a value if the speedo cable is busted?

the 4runner is mechanical link for speed
the taco was electronic.

i think im stuck getting a speedo cable but worth a shot.

I'm talking about replacing your stereo with a double din screen...unless your shit came with a fisher price turntable you should be fine

it connects to the transfer case so both would have to have the same t-case
