I noticed it said:

Cage / Chassis / Body

Safety cage built by an approved vendor
Frame must be Toyota Pickup or 4Runner frame, 2wd or 4wd

So does this meen you can't build the cage yourself? You have to have soemone build it for you?
All the cages look the same from the pics but surely they have a guidline for building the cages yourself.

I was thinking the same thing. I haven't looked but I don't figure there are too many companys that build off the shelf cages that extreme.

Maybe you just have to become an approved vendor since most of the buggies are sponsored by a shop anyway.

That or sometimes in class racing, the 'approved vendors' are seed capital/moneys that are used (bribes ) to ensure the 'success' of the class.

Those are just the rules to use one in competition, formula toy is a class in rock crawling events and in order to race the class you have to meet the requirements for the class. It was intended to be a drivers class with relatively low buck entry and start up cost forcing everyone to use the same axles, chassis, suspension, engine and drivetrain.
