    Found this portion particularly helpful

If you mount a GP set-up on an insulated roof rack, ladder, or spare tire rack (most of which have no or intermittent grounding), metal vehicle or not, you must run a ground from the vehicle to the mount

I can send mine home with my brother this weekend. He lives in Austin and you can tune it before the meet. PM me if you want to meet up with him. He lives near town lake east of downtown.

I have a tuner and I'm about 51% sure I'll make to HF.

    * Side note anyone installing an antenna, on a SUV or truck with a shell, be sure to mount the antenna on the passenger side of the vehicle.

I sent my tuner home with my brother. He is in Austin near Town Lake. If someone wants to use it PM me and I can get you in contact with him.

If anyone needs a brand new 4' tunable Firestik, LMK... 20 bucks.

I'm going to do a 3' because I have it mounted high & it hits my carport.

It's the window they'll break to steal the radio that will suck. Houston is FULL of crack heads,

I'm gonna leave mine on too, but I don't hang out in the ghetto or downtown at all

So will putting a tennis ball on my antenna hurt the signal strength? When my antenna hangs on something it's going to spring back and I don't want it busting up my 3rd brake light.
