offroad: Windrock/ CoalCreak (oakridge) TN October7-9th

This thread is for an upcoming windrock trip (coal creek) in Oakridge TN the weekend of the 7-9th in October. This the one of my favorite places to wheel and would love to get a decent group to go. i already have a thread going on another site but the more the merrier.

If you dont already know windrock is 72,000 archers of trails from mild to "brake your shit."

The plan is to arrive Friday Eve and camp at the coalcreek campground. (The nice one) wake up sat early and wheel till dark. Friday/Sunday will be up to your discretion. Cost is 20$ a head and I think camping is similar in cost.

I PLAN on having a few late model tacomas out there. Some are stock and some are locked ready to get dirty. i know this is only my second post on this site but im hoping to meet some new people looking to wheel. i dont care what you got but know that damage is a possibility.

*Bring spare parts if you have them as someone in the group may need them.
*recovery gear is highly recommended/will get used.
*tools are also necessary so if you have a trail set the more the marrier.
*additional details to follow /if you have questions this is the thread ill be following.
    * anything is invited just note im hoping most vehicles will be locked at least one axle. Any any extreme trucks note that most us us are full bodied on no bigger than 35s.

    Additional detail to follow

I like your license plate mount! I used the DennyT mount method for a year or two - put it in the opening for the rear window slider - pops in there perfectly!

No CORE is cincinnat off road enthusiast... they were never going. My buddies Hummer club will be down and Looking like I'm gonna be wheeling w Hummers .

I'm convinced Tacoma owners much rather stick garbage on their trucks and dick beat, then to drive off-road ::I give up::

Ok gang, I have been dragging my feet a little before came up with a plan for this weekend because i wanted to see what every body's availability is. Looks like were gonna have maybe 4trucks camping and a few other passengers. Others May show up on sat am. Depending on what time we get there on Friday we may have an opportunity to get out on the trails for a little "late daylight" depends on time of arrival and setup. If you are interested please mKe it known so i have an idea. More importantly Saterday!

On sat the plan is to line up at the front gate down by the parking lot and the snack shack (where if you didn't buy your permit for park you can do so) at 730. I'm not sure if just the shack only opens at 7 or the park does too but we will be in line up a few mins after so if they open at 8 then we will be there in line. Speaking of line... There is going to be a national hummer meet down there this same weekend with over 80 trucks. Please try and get your land use permit sooner than later. If your camping with us you can buy them when you get your camp site paid for.
Depending on the group size and equipment we will make trail decisions accordingly but plan to be on the trails All Day. Pack a lunch (and a dinner just incase) last time im sure some went hungry as we went several hours into night from an early am start. We can try to get out to the windmills sat night but if that doesnt work maybe Sunday am we can grab that special windmill permit I think they sell... If someone knows something chime inhere

Cell phones have little to no coverage out there but if you need to get a hold of someone my cell is 513 518 9282 cb radios will be utilized on trails (if my actually works this time). After wheeling we plan on camp fireing it up so remember to bring wood if you got it. Town is about 10 mins away, so if you forgot booze or food or want to stop in for a big Mac you can do so.

We will be staying at www.windrockpark.com campground so if you have any question how to get there see site.

    -nick
