Well apparently the “Big 3” have made the auto start/stop feature standard on all trim levels at least in the pickups. Now I have driven a few and only noticed because I was looking for it to happen and it didn’t bother me, but for some reason it bothers the hell out of my boss. I found a few work around including unplugging shot from the comp or plugging in a trailer brake light tester. I settled on a button interference module that TFL Truck recommended. I’m going to install it and see how it goes. Anyone else had experience with this? If it works then it’s a fairly cheap ($99) fix that’s pretty cool.

Yeah, somehow it saves fuel? I figured it would burn more, and wear out your starter.

Yeah, starter wear would annoy me.

I don’t know how it wouldn’t add wear/tear to the starter. I don’t think the cylinder cutout is good either long term. If you keep one around long enough then half the damn (cylinders) engine will end up with more wear then the other half.
