What have you done to your ride lately?

Well today I set out to drop the gas tank because it started leaking after I topped off at the gas station. After jacking with it for a little while I gave up and decided that my solution to the drip is to not top off all the way unless I’ll be on the highway for a little bit to burn the level down. I also decided not to mess with the trans gasket. I gave each of the bolts an extra ugga-dugga and I did not observe another puddle on the shop floor. I did notice that it’s missing a bolt in the pan, and there’s sealer coming through the bolt hole. That makes me think that that particular hole may be stripped out so I’m not sure I want to clean it out and try to install a new bolt. In other news, I realized how stupid roof light bars are. It puts so much glare on the hood! But it’s already installed so it’s staying.

Oh and FWIW, I have a roof bar and the glare is not bad.

Not gonna have the hood a different color than the rest of the rig, it looks janky enough as it is. I’m just gonna complain about it and do nothing :)

Changed spark plugs with the ones I bought at Advance Auto Parts. Used a scope camera to get a view inside the cylinder. Seemed like a lot of carbon build-up to me. Will be curious to get y'alls opinion. Pics will get uploaded soon.

That was my thought as well. This is after 3/4 of a tank with some gumout injector cleaner.

SeaFoam and let see results.

I had thought about doing seafoam before changing the spark plugs. Decided against it, but I'm reconsidering after looking through the camera.

I watched a video with before and after seafoam pictures and it didn't look much different.

Pull it in through the vacuum tube for the brake booster; it makes a difference. I try to do a Seafoam treatment once a year but will probably back it off to every 25,000 miles now that my yearly mileage has dropped a lot.

That's Mr Asshole to you
Waiting for NTB to do a state inspection. I went to the closest place to work. Now that I am here I wish I would have gone to this little oil change place a little farther away since NTB is a little busy.

10 hours later and it’s out. Found out my rear main seal is also leaking a bit so have to see if the local dealer has one in stock.
