IMO American recycling is a total sham put on by the big waste companies and allowed by our gubment via kick backs and bribes. They (the mobbed up waste management companies) subsidize the cost of waste that goes into the landfills then jack up the cost of recycling so that it doesn't make fiscal sense to recycle. If you put the same companies who own the landfills in charge of recycling - any moron would tell you they would and have tweaked the system so that more goes into the landfills and less into recycling. Then when the recycling programs end the dump costs climb back up. Same shit China does when subsidizing companies here - they run everyone out of the biz then have a monopoly and jack the prices back up due to no competition. Freaking commies

America is decades behind Europe regarding recycling. Ive spent months on this exact topic looking to find a place to send old glass I removed from the Liberty Bell museum. National Park service wrote the spec and I had to follow. I was about to tell them that it came out of the ground so we were going to recycle it back into the ground, btu they wanted it to be reused and only a small handful of companies do that in our country.....and I'm just talking monolithic glass thats clean. No laminated glass with plastic in it. In England every car windshield gets recycled. In Merica every one goes into a dump.

You are a 100% correct about this. They only recycle 20% of what is actually recycled. The rest is thrown in the dump. It's been designed to make you feel better about helping the earth when it reality it just goes into the ground. I got that statistic from a recycling Engineer for Waste Management during a lecture on ethics in college.

Morning Glory - In the next 3 days there will be 3 'peaceful protests' - unless you consider all the anti police and BLM tagging that the citzens took it upon themselves to clean.

I think Morning Glory will have the highest density of concerned citizens protecting private property. Two of the protest area are within a stones throw of my home in Morning Glory. ...not worried as many are ready to have guests stop by.

I love Morning Glory. Yesterday there was a resident on a deuce and a half inciting pride. He must have distributed hundreds of sheets of "plywood" to any biz that was not boarded up. This morning restaurants are feeding volunteers. I love this town in a sea douchebaggery of a state.

Roger - any of your friends who need new glass - tell them to get annealed lami not tempered monolithic. Chances are insurance won't even notice the price $ if they claim it and it's much more B&E resistant. Also if they clean up prior to claims adj insp than lami was already in there so it can be replaced.

Also horizontal aluminum bar stock starting 10" above finished floor on doors, spaced about 8" on center up to about 56" at min will help once the glass is broken out.

Force of a kick is pretty strong. You could just use some self cutting machine screws but then you'd be all show and no go when SHT. Aluminum doors are thin. Talking 1/8" thick walls on those verticals max so 1/8" thread engagement is poor at best


The door strikes I put on all the doors on my house to stop kick in's are 48" long Typical is 3-1/2"

I've really never heard the term "sex-bolt". Growing up we had to remove rocks from the fields before planting.. my dad would every once in a while come across what he called a sex-rock because it was fucking heavy. LOL

It's powerful. On a break to eat and I may wonder down there again. I visited both sides. One side very loud. The only real offensive thing I heard was two Hispanics when the realized they were on what they referred to as "The White Side."
