RCV performance CV axles

06Haole and I have been talking about RCV axles. My axles are being developed through them and im interested in whether or not anyone on this forum has had any experience with them. Are you running RCV axles? Have you seen rigs that run them?

I'm running them. They did mine as a prototype and even though it took forever and a day to get them, they are great. The biggest asset they have to offer is a new inboard joint that allows for a much larger range of motion without binding. Also, the inboard joint is easy to remove from the axle stub that goes into the housing. It's been very convenient on more than one occasion to be able to disassemble it while it was on the truck (read "trail repairs"). The stronger chromoly shafts give me more confidence when I engage the front locker whereas before I was always worried I was going to break a shaft on the trail.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone else running their CV Axles, but tons of hard core offroaders use their other products.

yea, my shop is going thru them with a new concept of a ball-in-socket inner joint with grooves to drive it...they have already got a prototype out but are working out out to drive it at full bind

That would be sweet to see.

Reminds me, If I ever get off my lazy ass I want to take a anti-sway bar, cut it in half, spline the ends and make a coupler that would slide back and forth. As much as everyone professes that you don't need a sway bar, I am very used to driving a tank that has an active suspension that drives flat as a race car (okay maybe just a bit off ) but I want both!

I'm right there with you. I still haven't gotten around to working out my solution, and since then have had several other ideas on how to accomplish it.
