Good start, First suggestion would be a locker for the rear & some real front & rear bumpers that can take a beating.

You'll like that OME setup.

A locker would be my next upgrade. You can get one relatively inexpensive and the benefits you'll gain are well worth it.

I'd also suggest some TC or Camburg UCA's and finish off the skid plate package and then look for some bumpers. Or you can keep the stock bumpers, but they will remove themselves over time. :)

yeah, would love to do an ARB airlocker in the rear, and a Relentless front bumper and rear if I could afford it

Look into a LockRite. Half the price, works great.

I witj Rob, i bought an SR5 too and kick myself in the ass everytime i wheel for not driving an extra 40 min to get the TRD with rear locker, but you have a real nice truck on top of that

x2 lockrite's are great, install it yourself, best bang for your buck

I will have to look into this more, but the thing I need to keep in mind is that I do quite a bit of highway driving in the winter, as a ski coach I'm driving to the mountains each weekend and its about 700 kms round trip (435 miles) so I need a system that can handle highway driving, being put into 4 high on the really nasty hill climbs while on the road (been on a highway with 6 inches of slushy snow before, not fun) and can also handle the trails.

I guess it will be a research day for me

You might wont to look into a selectable locker then, not sure if a Lockrite would be good....

man it always comes down to the most expensive option....

1st option was going to be to swap the rear axle for an e-locker, but then found out with the new "safety" features in the 09 a direct swap from a 05+ would not work.
2nd option was going to be a swap to a LSD in the rear, but same issue as 1st option.
3rd option is more research into the Lock Right locker, but if it means I lose long highway ability, then its out.

that leaves me with option 4 - ARB airlocker..... damn, this is becoming an expensive hobby! LOL, but totally worth it

sorry, ment LSD, will correct that now
That's cool. I would highly recommend getting a locker instead of an LSD. I don't think I've found anyone who talks highly of their Limited Slip because it only offers a slight advantage over an open diff and only really works on pavement.

If you're thinking about an auto locker here's an article I wrote awhile back and finally posted on this forum:

I think you've just got Auto LSD, a manual LSD isn't gonna be much better though.

thats true, and it only works in 2-wheel anyway...turd that it is,....lol, Lockrite here I come.

Well Clyde has an LSD in the rear and I believe its a True-Trac. It works great, on pavement it will lock up both tires every time. In the dirt it will lock both tires every time... ONLY when one tire is bound up super tight will it actually fail and allow the other tire to spin. Last time I wheeled it at HF I did almost every level 5 trail out there, only ONCE did it fail me and require me to back up and pick a new line. For 90-95% of the trails it will work fine. Does this mean that its better than a locker? Not a chance, does this mean that I won't replace it.. not a chance. But not all LSD's are built the same. The higher quality ones act like a locker in many instances.

had to see how she looked next to a 4Runner

Really impressed how she handles on the road now, nice smooth ride. Now to see how she holds up on the trails this weekend :D
