I'm still thinking about something that I could do multi-day lightweight Sierras camping trips. Therefore I am thinking coilovers (in stead of air shocks) and a quick disco anti-rock or something like that. What are your thoughts?

The Pig goes on a diet! Thinking along these lines but better layout for the propane bottles, a couple of Action Packers, jack, etc.

My thoughts are simple and functional first IE get the damn thing running, then see where it needs to go from there.

Yeah I had those thoughts but as long as I am going through the pain of all of this and have a full complement of lifts, tools, welders, etc, available to me NOW, and more importantly a number of days of free time per week! I want to get the whole thing dialed in. With the amount of snow in the mountains, I am limited to where to go right now too.
I was going to 'keep it simple' with 63s but then I would have to add on to where it had been bobbed - and I would like to have a 110-113" wheelbase - this led me down the road of a 4 link. I will keep working hard to get the wheeling pics soon!!!

Thats a good idea, because if air shocks blows out you are screwed.. she's sitting on the bumpstops! If coilovers break you at least keep the rig upright. I would enjoy it too! Where the hell is Bill and Melinda when we need them most!
As you can tell, I now feel a bit more comfortable with burning $100 bills!!!!
But really, I am now comfortable with the idea of spending what I need to make this a safe and fun 'new' toy. Who was I fooling thinking that I was going to buy a $2k rig and be done with it. I now think the total will be 'round $10k but it should be a sweet toy when it's all said and done!
One of my friends were telling me that I am moving way too fast on my upgrades. I look at it this way, if I do the right thing the first time, I will be truly better off in the long run. Oh if I could have the first $7k back from the Taco upgrades!!!
Now we need to find a good excuse to have a meet somewhere in the middle!

Well thats the way to do it. Do it once and do it right. A 10k trail rig as capable as the one you are building is awesome! Plus you'll know what is all in it and that no corners have been cut.

There is no such thing as a "budget" when building a wheeling rig, you may start with one but it will very quickly get tossed by the wayside.
