2007 Tacoma Horn Technical Issue

my horn quit working about 3-4 weeks ago... maybe longer. i checked the 12v fuse & it appears to be fine. I am not sure what else to look for to see if i can tell what else would be keeping the horn from working.

a service tech from a local dealership wants me to bring my truck to them & let them have a look at it to see if its the relay or if theres an issue under the pad where the air bag is located. but i'm not ready to pull any money out of my wallet for someone else.

if the fuse is bad its gonna cost $77 at the dealership which is apparently the only place i can get one unless i can pull one from a scrap yard.

has anyone had any issues with their horn just crapping out on u? what else can i look for or do to try and get it back working? it's a pain in the ass not having a working horn right now :mad:

As for your problem, not sure. I would start by checking for power/ground at the horn when you push it.

$77? It works off a 10amp fuse under the hood. I blew mine when I wired in the extra horns, so I replaced it with a 15amp.

no sir... mine is a blue 12v fuse, not the small one. the only thing that has been changed under the hood within the past 2 months is my old battery crapped out on me so i replaced it with a yellow optima battery. i wonder if it shorted out something on the horn when the metal bracket kept touching the terminals before i could rig it to stop?

Weird.....that could be it. Try pulling the little plug off the horn and testing for your 12v when you hit the button first. Then trace it back to the fuse box/steering wheel. Or just cone to Alto this weekend and ill fix it there.

I think she's confused maybe? There is a10amp fuse and a small relay IIRC then the horn button itself.
