A/T Temp Check Mode for Tacomas

I ran the Trans Temp Check Mode on my 2007 taco, came back it was running hot due to the A/T Temp Icon flashing instead of staying on. I wanted to get some feedback before I started replacing/refilling the fluid in my trans.

Hell that's the one thing im going to take my truck to the dealer to do...its just too complicated and frankly annoying IMO. I read about half of the DIY article and said "fuck it". As far as your tranny running hot, do you know the temp its at? Mine normally runs about 160° on my trans gauge.

On a hot day mines around 170-180.

I wish I did, I don't have a temp gauge for my trans. I probably should take it to the dealer but not sure what to ask for. I want to order a gauge pod for a Oil Pressure and Trans Temp Gauges so I can monitor them better.

Let the truck cool off completely start with a cold trans put the trans into temp check mode and let it warm up at idle when the light comes on solid your at proper temp to check when it starts flashing your too hot to check accurately. Check temp is like 120 or so, average operating temp is much higher like 180 or so level can't be checked at operating temp.
