Anybody replaced a compressor on a 3rd gen. runner?

So apparently the clutch locked up on my AC compressor last week, been looking for a replacement clutch but couldn't find one looks like i'm gonna have to replace the entire compressor. Any guidance or suggestions will help

Its a strait forward bolt on except for evacuating the freon and recharging it. You are "supposed" to take it to a shop and have them pull the old freon out because releasing it into the air is bad for the ozone. You are gong t need to recharge it once the new compressor is in regardless.

Actually it is imperative that you can determin if the clutch hub bearing or the compressor has indeed locked up--regardless if the system has been breached with repair the dryer agent has to be replaced(usually its an allen key that fits and its a tube on the side of the condenser)! If the clutch bearing failed then renew the unit and replace the dryer--If the compressor failed (locked up and sent metal into the system) then the expansion block has to be replaced (gets coated with metal) dryer--and a full flush of the evaperator and condensor! A deep vaccum and recharge will be necissary after repairs but remember that the proper amount of a/c oil has to be added to the parts replaced!

I changed my Compressor, 249$ for a rebuild. Turned out to be the same as the factory rebuilt, the place was in Texas to my surprise. Been working great since..

I was lazy, did not change the dryer or the txv.. just the Compressor.
