Just starting a place to post some videos, new park info, and pics. Will fill in more info later.

Video - audio quality sucks. A GoPro Hero 7 Black is on my short list right now.

This is coming down the Uranium mine trail out past the Trail to Nowhere. Overall the trail is not traveled often so it has lots of pinstriping branches and the trail has some washed out areas. I will do it again; but will probably walk part of it first to see how far up I will go.

The washout that made me debate traveling up the trail. This was during the process of throwing all the large and small rocks I could into the washout to try to make it safer/ish.

Pretty cool. I personally like the trails less traveled much better than high use trails so I enjoyed seeing this trail. The scenery is always nicer & usually less trash on them.

Good news! No worries - I am already planning our next trip.

The less traveled part is great until I am trying to figure out how far from any sort of help we will be if I rolled it right there.

Add a PLB & a bicycle to your gear list. I keep trying to talk my buddy who is always going on solo trips on his bike to get a PLB. For less than $100 a year they are cheap insurance.

One of the people we talked to out there said the same thing about the PLB. She has a text-capable satellite device that lets her text and make emergency notifications. The device gets service on a month-by-month subscription. Was going to check it out. The bicycle is a 50/50. My sammich maker is not so handy on a bicycle so I would be doing that kind of riding alone.

My take on PLB's cause everyone's got one and theirs is always the best lol

1) PLB should only be a PLB so when you need it it's ready and has power. No texts. No calls. PLB only. Example of mixed use PLB's: Would be like a AR-15 also squirting water in addition to bullets when you pulled a different trigger, but pulling the water trigger makes the bullet trigger not work.

2) Their batteries should last 5+ years. No charging. No replacement batteries. 5 year or longer lithium ion battery.

3) The PLB must be burnt in (electrical testing). 99.9% are not. There is no way in HELL I'm trusting my life to something that's not burnt in.

4) Must be small and can take a punch. The smaller and more durable it is the more likley you will be to take it with you.

5) The battery must last 5+ years being dormant, but also MUST send a signal out for more than 24hrs. Good ones will send out signals for 48hrs plus.

6) No subscription based services. They are for suckers IMHO. Cospass Sarsat and similar groups do NOT charge users fees.

7) The satellites utilized must be good and the group running them should have their shit together. Check out Cospas Sarsat and similar others International Cospas-Sarsat Programme - International COSPAS-SARSAT

My hands down easy choice that meets all the above criteria easily: https://www.amazon.com/Personal-Locator-Beacon-MicroPLB-High-Reliability/dp/B00GCERP10

Oh and regarding the bicycle - she doesn't need to be able to ride it good. She can walk next to it and it can still carry her water/food/etc while she walks to find you help. If you need to find her help you can possibly do so much quicker than walking.

Oh and go with a class II device. You should not need a class 1 device unless a boat or plane captain
