Has anyone checked into seeing how many vehicles we can have at a single campsite? I was reading about some of the 4WDHC trail campsites that the next campsite might be 30 minutes away.

Found it
Individual campsites have an 8 person and 3 vehicle limit. Group campsites have a 12 person and 5 vehicle limit

I anticipate mild trail riding and zero wheeling. With lots of drinking and hanging out. :)

Road conditions are affected by rain and run-off and will vary widely. Check with a ranger for conditions on arrival. Some roads are suitable only for high clearance or four-wheel-drive vehicles. High clearance is considered a minimum of eight inches. If you have any questions about the roads or the suitability of your vehicle, consult a park ranger.

•Two-wheel-drive (2WD): main road and some spurs where any highway worthy vehicle, driven responsibly, can access.
•Two-wheel-drive, high-clearance (2WDHC): roads where extra clearance is required due to road conditions (obstacles, steep dips, etc.).
•Four-wheel-drive (4WD): recommended where extra traction is required on steep, loose or soft ground. Includes All Wheel Drive (AWD).
•Four-wheel-drive, high-clearance (4WDHC): primitive roads or routes harsher then 4WD, where passage required vehicles with extra traction, rigid suspension and high clearance.

Yeah, it was part of my plan too till it got shot down. We are doing Palo Duro Caynon for spring break instead. We did BB & BB ranch last year for x-mas and the kids weren't too eager to go back. I am probably going to try and meet up with iensdomus (STAN) for some Spring Break Wheeling in the Canyon.

Looking forward to it Sam. I just moved back up here two days ago, went to the canyon yesterday to play around, but its pheasant season now so i had to leave, didnt want to get shot by a Dick Cheney wannabe.

Frack me..
BB Ranch.. better offroad trails. My buddy did BB National Park off-road trails in his Toyota Yaris!

Nice group site. #2 is group site, #1 and #3 are individual.

It's a bunch of dirt roads with a little bit of interesting stuff to conquer. You would probably have to find your obstacles close to the road, I don't think the road itself is hard at all. I would head for the Mountain side of BB ranch if I were you.. I was told some of the passes were more interesting but never made it there. I scratched the hell out of my truck, those little trails are very narrow with the wild brush on either side.. Everything has thorns, and it's the perfect scratch the truck height.

Oh, and I heard (didn't see) the south side of Big Bend National park is supposed to be a good offroad location for jeeps. Never made it there, that is what the rangers were telling me. Be aware, take plenty of supplies! You will NOT be making a night run for drinks or ice or water even.

I will make sure I get a locker before we go....lol

We can test it to make sure you know how to use it before you go too! :D

I've posted this before, but it has great pics and information on BB Ranch and the 4WDHC roads there. http://sportsmobileforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2067&sid=8c4be00e1fc39420a1f4c5ddf625d2ed

In case you have to be registered to see the pics I'll copy some over. You can see the tight roads Sam mentioned.

May have been posted already, but have we decided on a date? I need to start working on this, with work, and the boss at home.

Keith turned this post into a poll, so pick a date (or two). No dates have been set in stone yet.
