I thought the same thing until I was buying a Class C, figured it would be different but it wasn't. Put a lot of cash down, told them I wasn't going to pick it up until a month later and they still missed the date by 3 weeks... argh. I don't think they do much over the phone if your local.

Found a nice one in the Houston area yesterday and picked it up. Private seller. Super clean(owner was a neat freak), tows great and has exactly what I wanted(toilet, slide out)

Its a 2009 starcraft 2409. Guy had the upgrade bug, he put a down payment on a 30' trailer RV so really wanted to get rid of this one, got a nice deal. Pulled great from Houston to central Tx. I went with this lighter unit (2400 lbs dry)so I can have tons more hauling capacity for firewood, coffee maker, maybe even an ice maker ect. It already has everything as far as fridge, stove, outdoor grill, propane, ac, furnace, water heater, 20gal water tank, sink, toilet, shower ect..

I considered a high wall, but that would quickly reach towing capacity and I plan on outfitting this badboy, probably a bike rack on the roof first.

Maiden voyage will prob. be Perdenalace* or a bbq competition I have coming up in about two weeks in San marcos.

Cool, you ought to really enjoy it. Some Texas mods... http://www.popupgizmos.com/ Bob Pitney makes these out of Dallas if your going to camp in the Summer here you will want them. get the "high wind" models. The other useful mod is http://www.lowes.com/pd_13358-56291-BP48025_0__?productId=3011906&Ntt=reflextix&pl=1&currentURL=%3FNtt%3Dreflextix&facetInfo= this will keep it cooler inside, and make it pitch dark inside at night. I can't sleep if there is light outside, so making it dark when you are camping somewhere with one of those annoying "all night lights"... this is great. Cheap too.. Fits in between the Screen mesh, and the window fabric..

This was my Camper at Inks during the summer..

Frack me..
oh.. and for cold camping, get a Heated mattress pad for the beds.. we put a foam topper, and then the mattress pad over it and left it on all winter long. Walmart sells the pad, less than 100 bucks..
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sunbeam-Royal-Warmth-Heated-Mattress-Pad/5019318

That is what I miss most about my PopUp.. freezing outside, and climbing into a nice warm cozy bed.. :D

I know it's a minivan, but hey.. that's what I started camping with. We bought the 4x4 Tacoma after this trip for the purpose of pulling the popup in crummy conditions. Love this photo..

truth
if ya cold you haven't drank enough

they would die in vt in feb.

says the guy who puts a heater in a vented tent lol

coughpussycough

I knew that was coming.. Have you slept in a popup in the cold? It's like wind blowing under a bridge, shit gets cold!

I had to bust your stones lol I bitch when it's 90* out so you can poke fun in summer and Ill poke fun about you guys freezing in winter.

I camp with a cot and tent in January and February when the high temp is 30* so I know all about cold weather. If it wasn't for zero degree bags and thermals I would have frozen solid long ago. I make fun of the guys who use heaters in their tents....lol

It's all good. I melt in summer. You should of seen the southerners react 3 years ago when it snowed at URE NC while I was down there. None of them were prepared for 30* cold weather and snow except the northerner (me) lol. Larry still has my extra set of dam thermals ................ you owe me Larry!!!

Set up the annex on the tent this weekend, worked out well for a changing room, just need a mat for the floor area
