If your like me you fill a 5 gallon bucket and pop it in the deep freeze. Takes about a day but last for ever. I use 500 bags of ice a year.... 4 bags a trip most of the time.

Jesus that would work. I freeze all my water bottles before I go out and put them in my cooler. Take one out and let it thaw when I want to drink one

You know that 2 liter of diet coke that you just threw away. Take it out, rinse it, fill it up with water and freeze it. It should last one or two freezes. The thicker the plastic, the better. I like those cranberry bottles the best.

I just froze some 16 oz bottles and they ballooned out badly. Btw, I froze them by accident... Had the fridge outside set a bit too low.

The problem with bottles is that the the plastic insulates them and isn't efficient as open-air ice
