Yeah, I bought my BA Hog Parks bags on sale.. got the little one a similar style that is designed for teen agers. So its shorter but has all the same features. As for the pads, I got Nemo's air mattress and memory foam combo that is amazing (totals 4" think). They were about $200 bones each but again, got them on sale and paid about half price. Even got a short version that fits the kids bag perfectly.

FYI ~ I never sign up for anything, but I buy so much gear from them I figured it's worth it. They don't bother me with much spam. You can also get the coupons early sometimes so you can scoop up the old stock first. They gave me "VIP pricing" after about a year but who knows how much that is. It was HARD avoiding them during the black friday season.

One of my buddy's loves slumberjack. I just hit him up and this is what he rocks. It's not light and it doesn't pack small but I know he has it with him on all his car camping trips. Big Timber Pro 0 Sleeping Bag

He spends more nights under the stars than anyone I know.

He uses down for his hammock/motorcycle trips but they pack small/cost a ton.

I've been looking for a bag exactly like that. Thanks!

That is a very nice bag. Wouldn't mind two of the 20 degree bags for the RTT.

We have a few different brands of mummy sleeping bags, mummy bags because usually it’s a space/packing issue with family of 4, but many times we will have an extra kid with us, we also have some very light weight rectangular summer sleeping bags, with extra full size silk liners to add if needed for extra warmth.

Most important...is having adequate thermal space between you and the ground. We have a couple of REI branded ones(bought many years ago, we no longer shop there lol, anti park/4WD access) and Powerlix sleeping pads.

It can be 30 degrees overnight, sleeping in 0 degree bag, and sleeping on top of a blanket, you can still freeze, the ground will suck every bit of heat out of you.

Also wearing too much clothes in a bag will also make you cold, just boxer shorts and socks is all you need.

Yeah I'm not hardcore enough to need a 0 degree bag. I'm gonna pick up one of the 20 degree ones though. I need to find Taylor a bag too before our trip in March. We canceled on the local state park. We're going to Devil's Den up in the Ozarks now.

I just wear a pair of shorts and a t-shirt... at least when I get up to take a piss I'm clothed.

I like that you can zip them together. Although my wife's feet are some of the coldest things known to mankind. Not sure I want this now that I talk it out. lol

I had one exactly like it several years ago. I know how big it is. I'm not using it to backpack. I have smaller gear if I need to pack light.

I have that Big Agnes couple sleeping bag which is fantastic for my wife & I. That's the one I leave as well in my RTT (and I'd imagine it's too big to take anywhere else as well.

Campsaver just moved some Big Agnes stuff to their "outlet".

Outlet Big Agnes Products - Outlet Sale on Big Agnes — 151 products / 241 models

Some is 20% off but I'd wait till they do a 20% off all outlet items and double stack coupons before I bought. If they let you do that with big agnes - IDK - never bought anything from BA before.

I know it's few and far between when they let me double stack snow peak coupons. Got my eye on their large firepit right now, but way to much $$$. When I can double stack coupons/discounts I might pull the trigger.

I have been wanting to buy a few ice bricks, probably 4 or 5 of 5lb size.

So far I found that theses have done very well.
