Trust me, you are better off with the 5100's
I agree, a much better ride too. Now, if I can just figure this cv thing out before next weekend, and get it fixed.

Don't listen to Randy. The diff drop helps WAY more on vehicles that aren't 2nd gen Tacos. Also, it looks like MJP2 dropped his way more than most kits which is why he had to build that weird ass skid.
Also, I don't think that any of you plan to participate in a 500 mile race through the desert?
So I need to take my diff drop off b/c that guy built a shitty skid? If you've seen a budbuilt installed with a diff drop it leaves room so that if by chance you hit a rock (hard enough and at speed) the plate has room to give before it meets the arms that are lowered by the drop. I guess anything is possible but I've seen a before and after pic of the cv boots transparently imposed on top and it does reduce the angle. The scenario needed to tear a boot is much more prevalent than the scenario of smashing your belly on a rock in just the right place to cause that sort of damage.
Now having said that I'm sure next time I wheel I'm going to smash my diff up and Randy is gonna make me eat my words
Isn't too much down travel a negative side effect of using coil spacers to get lift?
I had issues with too much drop in NM. Remember how my CV kept popping out? It was because of the top plate spacer. If my issue is not related to snap rings. My setup is very similar to everyone else's, what would be different to cause the cv's to slip out?
I ordered a new diff support, from Toyota. It should be here Wednesday. I'll put it on Thursday. I'll also take both cv's out to make sure the inside of the diff is clean. Put the cv's back in, refill the fluid, and hope they stick.
Ok,so my diff drop stays...so I still need to modify my skids.
Yeah that weird mod he did to his skid was a rock grabber.
X2!.....You know Bud is proud of the flat belly design, as well he should be. AP has there skids designed to be "tucked" up which IMO is the same as something to snag up on. I prefer a nice flat stomach.. I just wish I personally had one.![]()

The 5100s shouldn't make them come out. Were you having trouble with it after you removed the spacer and before your diff was "relocated"?I thought that's what happened to you. I don't have the plate anymore, even though I need about another 1/2" lift. The 5100's do the same thing I'm sure. I figured the uca's had something to do with it. Guess I'll have to just get the lift I need, and try to fit some straps, to limit down travel. Then that's the tricky part, how much down travel to go with.

Probably has more to do with the new location than the 5100s. You should be fine after you replace that arm.I installed the diff drop the same time I installed the spacers in February. As far as I know, this is the first time it has happened.
