That truck looks a million times better without that monstrosity of a flatbed on it.

Yeah I'm think of cutting it about 2" behind the shackle mount then adding a plate on the frame ends.

Dude, that is AWESOME! Do I need to show you how to drive it offroad?? :D

If by that you mean show me how to get hung up on fallen logs like you showed Jay, then no.....lol

Ok I pulled the brakes today and Damn! There was so much Alto mud it took an Hour to chip it all away, found that the calipers were shot to shit so I ordered new ones that will be here tomorrow along with new brake line for passenger side. Parts for this truck are sooo much cheeper then my taco, $37 each for new calipers and $15 for brakeline. I will put the brakes on tomorrow. I also changed the oil and added a little Lucas to it to try and limp the rings along for now.

Wish I would have seen this earlier, I rebuilt my caipers for $8 eachh & it was super easy to do. Haven't you been watching my build?

Yes I have, but I wanted to get rid of those rusty mud covered pieces of shit and new ones were cheep. I do want to know how you managed to get the rear drums off?

Then the drums might be shot or just way out of adjustment, If it's like the drums on that tacoma then there is a access hole next to the adjuster and you can use a punch to drive the drums off. Or you could go rent one of those big ass 3 jaw gear pullers and use that to pull the drum off.

Your doing it again Randy!!

On another note, this truck has liftblocks in the rear right now, wonder if the AAL in my stock Taco springs would work instead?

On the Taco, they're threaded. All you have to do is find the right size bolt and getting them off is a cinch.

Ditch you those OE rears completely and put your tacoma springs under there, they are much longer and longer spring=more flex granted this will require a new forward hanger but I think the gains far out weight the cons those tacoma springs are practically the same thing that marlin sells just a little less arch. Plus you may be able to mix in a leaf or 2 out of the old packs into the tacoma packs to add some weight strength to them If you were to do this I would recommend using/cutting the eyes off the main leaf and the second leaf in the pack and put them where they would fit best length wise into the existing tacoma leaf pack.

Threaded? WTF are you talking about drum sits on the hub with the pads pressing against it just like every other drum brake I've seen

There are 2 threaded holes on the face of the drum for removing when they're stuck. I've done it before.

Oh, I thought you were talking about a bolt or something already on the drum I just ignored those as I couldn't find any bolts that would fit. You had me somewhat worried that I broke something when I put the gearpuller on the drum and slammed it with the impact wrench.

My Toco springs are going to Drew, they are shot anyway that's why I ordered the dakars.

Eh well that sucks, see if you can get the springs from Anathollo he's the one buying drews dakars. Simple fact of the matter is the springs you have are going to suck no matter what you do with them they are just too short to provide decent flex while retaining any kind of load capacity.
