Finished up installing the calipers, Chopped the frame 8-9" in the rear, then messed with engine some. Did figure out that the smoke is most likely just from it running real rich, the smoke don't really smell like oil and it does flood out if you give it too much throttle at start up. Need to dig out my cheltions Manuel and adjust the carb.

I think perty is never going to happen, I'll shoot for rock ready and go from there. Yeah deff get me a pic of the 63's I was wondering were the front mount would be located.

Got my brakes on today, had to bend the steel brake line to the caliper by hand (not fun) tried to bleed brakes by myself with out success, guess I will get Kindra to help if it ever stops raining.

You really want pics of new brake calipers? Ones silver and ones dark gray....lol
I didn't take any pictures of them because I didn't feel the need, next time I have the front wheels off I'll get some pictures for you guys.

Are you trying to keep your stock wheel base. With no bed you're only limited by your ability to get a shorter/longer driveshaft.
Read this if there was ever a question about 63" chevy leafs on a toyota it has been asked and answered here

I have not really thought that far ahead Randy, it's pretty short now.
I am going to remove the stock fuel tank and get a cell instead, then mount it behind the cab above the frame rails. I think I will go get a 4'x8 sheet of 1/4" plate and cut it down for my flatbed section. Then i will come back later and add tube rails etc. to it.

Yeah the wheelbase is crazy short on this thing, I will get a center/center measurement tomorrow.
I think it's shorter then your truck Drew, If it was any shorter I would start worrying about it getting tippsy on me, especially with no weight out back.

My reg cab has a 110" wheelbase
Yours is 103"
The one I want ('86-89 Xtra cab) is 121.5"

I really like the 110" wheel base and might try to shorten the one on the new truck.
would you section the frame and slide the wheel section forward, or just relocate the axel?

Exactly what I am looking for. Good luck!
Did you see the one I posted that's here in San Antonio. It's in pretty good shape and there's a build thread on IH8mud so you can see all the fab work. It looks pretty solid and already has some really nice mods. Just a little out of my price range, and I think I want to do all my mods myself.

Well I ask because just looking at the frame on mine, if you go up that far you might be hitting frame when you flex because it dips down lower then the axel pocket built in the frame that far up.
