Well I ask because just looking at the frame on mine, if you go up that far you might be hitting frame when you flex because it dips down lower then the axel pocket built in the frame that far up.
How far do you think you could move it? Doesn't the bump stop strike plate hang down a few inches? might mean a few more inches you could move it forward without issues.

Yeah the one bumpstop I have in the rear hangs down pretty far. I'll take a picture of the frame tomorrow, I think you can see it in the pic i posted of the flatbed being gone.

Did you see the one I posted that's here in San Antonio. It's in pretty good shape and there's a build thread on IH8mud so you can see all the fab work. It looks pretty solid and already has some really nice mods. Just a little out of my price range, and I think I want to do all my mods myself.

Yeah. Too Much, and too much done to it. I kinda want a project truck as well. Probably try to get something cheaper, and put more money into it, to build the monster living in my head.

I know what you mean, I got a kickass truck in my head, but getting it to come to life takes $$$$ and time.

Frack me..
My reg cab has a 110" wheelbase
Yours is 103"
The one I want ('86-89 Xtra cab) is 121.5"

I really like the 110" wheel base and might try to shorten the one on the new truck.

I love that Short Wheel base, easy on turns and no highcenter! 105.3" on the 3rd gen 4runner.

I found 4 of these in a stack of old parts at the shop, I'm going to use these for stop/blinkers for now so I can pass inspection.

You can fit a Ford F-150 fuel tank under the bed and its justa bout flush with the bottom of the frame. I pan to do it to mine and then build a skid for it. Cheaper than a fuel cell and takes up less room. Of course you cut your frame so there might be an issue, but you might want to look into it.

Yeah I was going to go that route.. I just sprayed it with bedliner.

I really like the idea of a fuel cell, but if you could fit it down between the frame rails it would be best.
I plan on mounting it center and no lower then the frame and close to the cab so he'll keep weight centered

Here's what you need for the interior. I think It's what I'm gonna do. I love vinyl floors.

damn thing has carpet in it right now, I'll prob go the Sean route and do the bedliner, rustolium has some at Lowes for $12 a can, might use it on frame too.

Here is a pic Drew, you have maybe 4-5" after the bump stop before the frame starts dropping.
