Not one that's rebuilt, lol

I'm thinking about rebuilding the thing while it's out anyway. I might try to find a cheaper kit though.

Might want to ask rob where he got his rebuild stuff it was much cheaper than the lce equivalent

If you do I will donate lots of free labor, I will prob have to either rebuild or swap eventually and I might as well get some experience by helping you

I got my stuff from Engnbldr, but they specialize in 22r & re stuff so no 3.4 parts. I highly recomend them to anyone who is rebuilding a 2.4.

Do you have an opinion about doing a full rebuild kit? I think I'm gonna do it just because I don't know what shape the motor is in and would hate to have to pull it out later. Plus, if/ when I do Forced Induction, I'd like to have confidence in the engine not blowing up.

I'd do it once and do it right. If its out have it torn down and inspected as well as gone through.

Pull the heads and oil pan and do a visual inspection. You will be able to tell if things are going south. Since the heads are going to be off have them checked for flatness, machine if needed and lap the valves. Remember that I was planning a full rebuild on mine untill I opened it up and found everything to look great, even after 184K miles. The short blocks are pretty damn tough.

Well fagues, it wasn't the damn starter. It was a bitch to pull that thing off of the 3.0. Making it harder? Some douche canoe used standard thread bolts on it.

I opened up the starter and the contacts were a little pitted and discolored, but not worn like other's I saw on the web. I replaced the contacts anyway because I had the damn thing out already, put it back in, reconnected the (+) terminal on the battery, and it cranked over just fine. So, to make sure it was fixed, I turned if off and tried to crank it again... nothin'.

So, since the only other thing I had changed was the battery connection, I busted out the Dremel wire wheel and cleaned the shit out of the teminal and connectors. That did it. At least I know how to pull the starter now, lol.

Harness should be on the engine, and if not, It's no big deal. I plan to use a "Mega Squirt" standalone system. It's not plug and play like a stock ecu, but it will be way cheaper, and I'll be able to adjust everything if I install an SC or Turbo.

if you buy some standalone system, buy something better than that megasquit...you have many better options there in USA...

nice Proyect...

I think the Megasquirt will work fine for what I'm going to use it for. I'm not afraid to do a little computer programming.

but it is not easy .. if you got someone to install it and make the programming of the megasquit, it`s ok .. but here we have had many problems...and it is difficult to make the work...

Finally got around to doing the H4 bulb conversion and am mad that I I waited so long to do it because it was so easy.

Also, bought a set of Tacoma TSB leaf springs with only 10K on them for $40. Figured I can use them for the conversion so I don't have to spend the money for Dakars up front.

Not Hella, they're a replacement part for an Acura. I was already looking for the link I posted a a few weeks ago, I'll look harder.

You should definitely do it man. These just look so much better. They're still glass and Super clear. Plus you can stick some silverstar ultras in there like I did. They're super bright!
