Good thing your DS fell apart in the drive way instead of on the trail. How are you going to mount your shocks?

That kinda sucks. Why are they dragging their feet?
It took forever to get through underwriting because SACU lost an underwriter or some bs, and now its passed underwriting but the title company is backed up and they haven't dropped my papers yet..apparently no one cares about all the appliances and furniture I've been buying and the fact that I keep having to push the damn delivery date back.
Gonna build some shock towers to go a couple inches below the axle
Sweet, I can't remember...do you already have the shocks for the rear? If so (and I don't close tomorrow) I can come by tomorrow or Saturday and we can knock it out

Or are you gonna weld tabs on the axle tube?

Unless he has longer shocks already and its cheaper than buying new ones.. for now. But I agree, he usually has a plan.

He prolly wants to maximize his wheel travel without mounting the shocks inboard / \. And I'll bet he needs fairly long shocks to do that and doesn't want to punch through the floor of his runner

mmm.. I still don't like things hanging down below the axle tube.

No shocks yet. I'll be in Comfort, TX this weekend recording a new album.

Hell no, but the concept is kinda the same

Glad you have faith in me :)

Alright so here's the explaination. Yes, it will hang down below the axle tube, but it will be so close to the brake drum that it will almost be entirely inside the rim. Kinda how the stock shock mounts on this thing were. Here's a pic, except this douche has some giant wheel spacers

Having such a wide rear axle gives me a lot of room to work with on the outside of the frame rail

Don't you also need to have your DS lengthened?

Ordered some 12" travel 5125s for the rear. Hopefully they'll be waiting for me when I get back into town. It's gonna be a wrenchathon to the finish on Thursday and Friday

I should be off Friday afternoon, I'll prob be packing up all my shit but I may not rent a truck till Sat so after I pack I can come help. Oh and I asked Rob to bring those Jerry Cans so that you can bring em back to SA for me, you'll have room right?
