I don't use my cruise control, but my compressor is bigger so I don't think it would fit even if I pulled out the CC.

I think I'm going to have to put it somewhere in the cargo bay, or underneath

Don't those compressors get real hot (fire in the cargo bay) and I didn't think they were waterproof either (if you mount it underneath)

Could you mount it underneath the cargo area then fab some kind of cover to bolt over it (I got this idea from installing a dishwasher last night)

LOL, don't know how the hell that happened

If you posted from your Droid and double tapped the reply button it posts it twice. Super annoying.

There has got to be a way to fit it under your hood, just get creative and weld up a cool bracket. I'm not sure how comfortable I would feel putting it under the truck due to the potential for it being damaged, and it might be pretty noisey in the cab.

Build a wrap around rear bumper and somehow integrate the compressor into the sides.

the more I think about it.. flatbottom the side areas (between the outer skin and the frame rails) and you can put the compressor on one side and a tank on the other... or a small spare battery).

That would be a good idea if you could figure it out. Be very interesting to see. You talkin about sealing it in completely so it wouldn't get wet/ muddy/ etc.. ?

Not really.. but prevent rocks from smashing it. they are pretty durable and designed to get wet/etc. Just not submerged. So maybe an enclosure is in order. Or at least drain holes and an elevated intake hose for the compressor.

I'm sure it would work.. as you can see here they are designed to be in harsh environments. I would only protect the compressor from rocks/mud and also move the inlet tube to a location that would allow fresh air at all times.

Actually, just read that the ARB can run fully submerged. Pretty cool!
