Finally got to use 4 High gear for the first time EVER!!!!

I finally got to use 4 High gear on my Tacoma this morning because of the conditions being so awesome outside and black ice everywhere. My sis is a doctor and she had to go into work at 7am in the medical center towards downtown Houston and wasn't comfortable driving in these conditions in her car so she asked me if I could drive her there. It is a mad house out there... I saw three accidents in front of my eyes, folks just slipping and sliding everywhere into each other. I never thought I'd ever get to use that gear... since I almost always use 4 low when offroading.

I was pretty upset when some complete ghetto idiot called in to a local radio show and commented on how the weather man should be shot for declaring an emergency for nothing because he was from Detroit and has seen real snow. Dumb SOB's don't even bother taking into account that we're not equipped to handle these kinds of weather conditions and there's not a whole lot you can do when you hit a patch of black ice at times even at the slowest of speeds. I have family in Chicago and NewYork and I've driven everywhere in the US to my credit and it really gets to me when people try to make fun of Houstonians for causing accidents in this kind of weather once a year if at that. My rant for the day

I've been in 4-hi all day. I had to take someone to the emergency room at 4:30 this morning. Luckily not many people out then, and the snow was nice and thick on the roads. I love driving in the snow.

People down here have a hard time driving in the rain much less snow and ice. I was born and raised in the midwest and have seen plenty of snow and driven in more times that I can count. But down here when the weather is shitty, its not me I'm worried about... its the other guy. The guy who never drives on it and has to get to work. So on those days I just stay home if possible. :)

I wish I could stay at home. I'ver worked all week, and have seen plenty of cars in the ditch, or slide off the road.

Damn

I use 4 Hi whenever it rains hard or whatever

Backed out of my driveway went to hit the brakes and turn and the truck proceeded sideways across the street right into their mailbox

I drove in 4hi all the way to Bryan this morning, had to run over to our Transfer point and then get on the roof to check on the heat. On the ay over there I watched over 5 people slide off the road because they are trying to stop by slamming on the brakes...lol

My truck has seen 4Lo maybe once since I've owned it? I've been in 4Hi for the last few days and pretty much always in 4Hi when wheeling.

But I'm with Sean. When the weather is bad like this the only thing that makes me uncomfortable driving in it is knowing that the other idiots on the road have probably never driven in snow before and may not know how to react if they hit ice or something.

Yeah she's bitching at me now for telling her to stay at home and work. Since she's the boss and her people are going into the office she feels obligated. I told her that she just has some idiots working for her. LOL

She has a conf call at 11:30 and then once its over I might take her in. I just ran out to the store and the roads without sand on them are slick as whale shit. Hell I was sliding a bit. I saw a SUV on its side on the on-ramp. I think its just a bad idea to go out but I'll do it.
