Well, I got Thursday night off so we're good to go. Plan on bringing gear for hot, cold, and wet weather. It can be in the 90's during the day and well down into the 40's at night up. Thunder showers are common at high elevation, even if it is not in the forecast.

Awesome man! We are going to head out around 5 am so we can get to town, eat dinner, get supplies, do whatever etc... I think we are going to camp out in the glades and if we get caught we will pull the "visitor" card plus it will only be for one night. What time do you want to meet us at the Glades? I mean we will already be there but so we are up and ready. Figure I am going to bring my 45 again and maybe 44mag for critters in the mountains.

If you go far enough back in there and get off the beaten path, nobody will ever know. I'll get off thu at 8am, go home, change, and head out there at 9ish.

Alright. I was thinking of that Drew but couldn't find it on the map. I just want an address, not exact but road numbers and such, to know before I try to get there. Plus wasn't it a bit of a ways out of town? I remember the drive taking awhile

That blm land you guys camped at is only 15 miles from the glade entrance

Half way between Aztec and the Navajo reservoir dam. North side of the road. Turn off pretty much anywhere and find a good spot. Prob out pump canyon is good. If you're coming up from Albuquerque and running late, you can hit the gila wilderness near Cuba, nm. You'll still be 1.5 hours out but like I said, if you're running late...

There is so much public land out here it almost doesn't matter. Just pull off and wander til you find a food spot. Bust you in the glade? Nah, that's county. I'm city. Deputies don't even patrol the dirt around here unless they get a complaint. Its not that they dont care, there is just too much dirt and not enough deputies.
