Go 4.88's. It will be plenty low, and if you decide to make it a dedicated trail rig you can add a crawl box and not have to swap gears again.
4.56 in Taco, 4.88 in 4Runner. Since his is a first gen Taco I'd go 4.88.
Only downside would be gas mileage/ highway RPMS. Right now 4.56s are impossible to find for the 2nd gen front diff.Im thinking of doing some gears here pretty soon. Any negative comments on your 4.56's?
impossible?

Looks like there's some on ebay for twice normal price.that sucks![]()

Might be a long ass wait. You'd probably have better luck 4.10s. Just have to hunt down a front diff.Damn, Ill wait![]()
. Ill just yank SeansYeah, would be nice to have a front locker too, huh.always something else. Ill just yank Seans
So what 4.56 gears are not available? EGCS states that they have fronts and rears available for 2nd Gen Taco's.
Yeah, but I don't think Chase has them in stock.Sweet, all you have to do is send them your 3rds right?
