Cause most places don't carry actual tubing it's all sch. "x" pipe. Finding somewhere that actually sells tubing is a bit difficult.

Found a place or two around here that sell it but they want $10 a foot! Never realized how much it was.

Yea thats why sliders are expensive to buy and why mine are built from square stock. Was that DOM tubing or HREW that may be a bit high for the HREW stuff.

Thats what the DOM locally here goes for, I can practically order it and have it shipped to me for cheaper.

damn thats $$. Around here its almost half that. I think 1.75 x .120 is about 4.50 a foot... IIRC

Well I've been to three different places today. No one has any of what I need. I got real close at a scrap yard though. They had 1 7/8"x.120 wall but not any 2".

I really only need about 6" per leg. If I can't find any today I'll just order it. Just wanted them done by this weekend though. Oh well.

You want enough that you can slide it over the existing legs as much as possible. At least I would. I'd notch them and go all the way to the first slider rail.. bore a couple holes for rosette welds and then run a bead around the end onto the slider rail.

So who is bringing folks? I'm bringing my buddy and his son and their little 81 Yota.

Its pretty stock, it used to look like this when I bought it.

I then sold it to him and he put a new motor (out of an 87) into it.. put new brakes, clutch, interior, etc into it and now it looks like this.

But its not locked (not yet) and no armor so it will be a ranch road queen.
