What year model is best to buy in those?

The 470 is the 4.7 motor. I think it changed to the 460 or 4.6 motor in 2013. My mom's GX has 100k miles on it and I bet it's seen more dirt than most of our rigs. The thing is solid still and I tried to talk her into selling it to me for my wife about 6 months ago. I would say find the lowest miles for the cheapest price with service records. Don't think 1 year is better than another.

In 2004 they got a bump up in towing capacity and in 2006 (I think) they got a horsepower bump IIRC

She drove new 4R limited and Trail etc and she was disappointed with the options inside compared to her 2011 Tahoe

ha ha I've hit the Whitetale lottery on the military base for the last two years, I got to hit the range maneuver roads almost every wknd from late September to December

Haha. I have just been working alot lately. Got the bumpstops and springs just need to get the bottom mounts this week. Going to go ahead and lift the front with 5100's off a FJ or 4runner.

Yes going to start it this next weekend if everything comes in. Planning a river camping trip and want the bags gone before we tow the boat that far.

Yeah I put the Firestone bags in mine. I didn't take them off. Wasn't worth the hassle or time of having to tear the rear end apart. I never actually got them working. For some reason they wouldn't take air. The airline wasn't pinched and there didn't appear to be an issue with the schrader valves. Only thing I can guess is something wasn't right where the airline connected to the bags (push in style fitting) but I hadn't got around to pulling the rear coils to investigate further.
