good video

from what I got out of it seems to be for:
lack of stock colmb on ar vs bolt gun stocks
raise scope to clear guards
don't run out of room on gun rail & have to use rifle and hand guard rails - hey said thats horrible
good eye relief

makes sense. everything I know about firearms is decades old + I never got into AR's so none of it applies anymore lol

I thought it was also to keep it from having the mount land on two independent surfaces (receiver rail and handguard rail).
That too. Busy day today and couldn't remember all the reasons for the cantilever scope system. Vortex states that in their video as well.

This is really old news. The gun is trash and last I heard they weren't selling them due to legal concerns (that could've changed by now).
I applaud Franklin Armory for finding ways to stick it to the ATF but this gun sucks.

Looks like you still can purchase.

Guess they pay GunsAmerica to promote it if it’s old.

Typical - no NJ sales lol

Reminds me when I had my name put in the transfer book - guys asked me if the rifle was NJ legal... of course I said yes. That made me wonder who is actually responsible besides myself to insure my new squirt gun meets NJ's thousands and thousands of pages of gun rules? My FFL said they wouldn't even open the box. Whats the dang purpose of a FFL in the first place? Only thing I could think of was it would be crazy to force a small gun mfg into knowing all 50 states laws, but if my FFL isn't checking the rifle and is only doing a NICS it kinda makes me wonder.

Well you need to open the box and check SN# before ya sign.

Ahh ok. Good to know now. Still cracks me up on how many places it's not for sale. The politicians were quick to add new laws to block this gun.

That makes sense. Will see if they actually inspect it in a few months. When the dealer asked if it was compliant I told him I brought the paperwork for it, but he just wrote "NJ comp" in the black book and didn't even read my paperwork lol

I'd really rather not have a pinned and welded barrel muzzle break but I'd also like to avoid the 5 year mandatory min w/o parole having one can bring on and oh the up to 150k in fines also sucks....rat bastards

Decided if I'm going to start plinking again it's time to get a new up to date NJ gun law book. Ordered it this weekend and it should be here before my rifle. Not cheap or a quick read at 500+ pages, but better than going to jail.

Storage....I need a solution recommendation if any of you have had good results w/locker type storage. W/O getting too far into it on a public forum, based on the limited knowledge I have I'm thinking of just going with a quick access gun locker. I have insurance that covers firearms so just looking to keep them safe for 10-20 minutes of a burglar trying to get into the cabinet and I must be able to access it easily. I do NOT want to "invest" in a massive heavy safe. Also this will be bolted to a floor and 2 corner walls so only the front/top/one side is accessible w/o removing walls/studs. I also have the ability to add multiple layers of stainless steel on top of the normal steel - I can just buy a little extra on some of my day jobs lol

@Taco Loco or @tx_shooter would know more than me about gun vaults. I know @Taco Loco has done some extra work around his gun safe so he can chime in.

But those are pretty much worthless for serious thieves. But if you want to take the time to add in additional metal, then it's on you. Just make sure you do it and don't put it on your list of stuff to get done.

I'd almost prefer one of these to hide your guns rather than have one of those chinsey gun lockers.

At a minimum use 4 of the 5/8" x 6" Concrete Bolt Anchors, locate studs behind wall, remove safe guts, drill through the fireproofing in the safe aka sheetrock and back of the safe and add min 4 lags bolts into studs. Add lifting weights, lead, ammo or even $200 cases of quarters for easy stacking in the available or extra space.

Some folks will also add 1/4 angle iron wider than the door frame if located in a closet, or full length of the closet and bolted on top of safe and bolted to stubs to create a heavy duty shelf and makes it that much more difficult to remove.

One of my barbers had a safe stolen by the 3 thieves, empty weight on the safe was right at 640lbs and Jason figured he had another 4 to 5 hundred pounds in the safe, but he didn’t have it bolted down. With determination and PCP and Meth strength, thieves will take just about anything.

Oh yea this will be bolted down to two walls and the floor for sure. Also not going to be in a spot that people will know to look for it unless they read what I post here. Can't get into it, but it will be hard to find for anyone not in my circle of trust yet still easily accessible. Due to a crappy architect when they added onto my house many moons ago Ive got more than a few useless areas on more than a couple floors that can easily become walled off.

Most expensive books Ive bought since college. Can't wait to dig into the 530 pages of new blue state laws. Decided if I'm going to start plinking again I should get the latest edition and get myself up to date. This guy is the only person I will trust my freedom with. Amazing how many people who shoot in NJ have no clue of the laws. This guys 100% legit.

I especially like his "loopholes and pitfalls" sections at the end of each chapter

Wolf is a scumbag. PA has been turning blue for a while and it's sad to see especially since PA is my go to resource for plinking supplies & the state Ive worked in for all but 6 years of my adult life.

I should of never mailed my check to JP last saturday. Almost a week later and they still don't have it. The silly things I do to get free shipping.

Speaking to my FFL last week I asked what he though would happen if NJ passed a law banning anything Ive purchased and if I would be grandfathered in. He laughed at me then said something like "we live in NJ - you will get screwed".

Come to find out reading my new law book last night that NJ has had extremely silly red flag laws on the books for 2 years dating back to when our Gubner changed from red to blue.

Took a little longer than I wanted but my order is now 100% paid for and in process. I "should" get my new squirt gun in October sometime.
