There's a big difference between 25k and 820k! A lot of nice shotguns and rifles can run into the 25-50k range. Especially African double rifles,etc.

Back in the day (20+ years ago) I was an avionics guy on F15's. Figure a 90 minute sortie smoked about 1500 gallons of JP4. Not to mention they are not the most reliable aircraft. At any time a 100k - 1m LRU can take a shit. So you better have a spare parts supply on hand and be able to solder. Not to mention the ground equipment to maintain it. But if money was no option I can't think of a better way to get to work.
