Let me know if anyone is bringing their lady or kids. Zoom is a great wheeling companion but if she's the only one, it's better that I go solo or bring a 'bro.' :)

I can bring stuff - just don't know what yet.

I will most likely not be bringing my wife, and daughter along. My daughter loves wheeling, but not so much for my wife. Plus, that long of a trip in my truck, and one of us may not make it. I will probably come alone, or bring my Brother in law. I'll know more in July on that bit.

Several wives came last time and Graham even brought his 5 year old daughter. My wife and kids like these trips and are welcome to come but she'll probably stay home with the kids because she knows I wouldn't be as good of a host with them there.

Sam, we will see snow but it wont be a pretty January dusting of the trees. What you see in the pictures is pretty much what you get. Below the pictures on post #1, I have links to other threads that have pictures of this trip. Check those out.

Here is July snow. Patchy and ugly. Usually left behind by an avalanche accumulation. One of those threads has a good picture of Graham sledding on some last year.

I also have tourism links on the first post. The towns of durango, ouray, silverton, and telluride are all hardcore tourist towns. They have all the trendy little main street shopping, natural hot springs, gourmet dining, spas, etc. If that's her thing, offer up a treat in town to "grease the wheels".

Or, Sam, imagine this. Thursday night when you arrive, you drive 45 min further and stay the night in Durango. Friday morning you leave her there and drive down to Farmington for the rocks that you love and she hates. During the day, she will be able to do as she wishes in durango. They have everything you can imagine and the whole town is walking distance. It is ridiculously safe there too. Virtually no crime at all. One can EASILY entertain themselves for a day in that town.

Friday evening we head north out of "the rocks" and head for "the Rockies". Drop dead gorgeous and she wouldn't want to miss it. On our way to camp we cut right through...you guessed it... Durango! Pick her up like you never missed a beat. You both had great days and you're ready to have two days of camping and beautiful trail runs with some moderate wheeling mixed in.

Everybody wins, baby!

Yeah, you don't know Bianca.. she isn't like most Chicks.. her idea of a good time is hiking 13 miles up a mountain to watch the sun rise. She doesn't like Rocks because she doesn't want me to smash up the truck.. that is all. I will take the Easier Routes on Rocks and it is all good! No worries, she likes wheeling but doesn't like my "macho-ism" trying to one-up the next guy on obstacles.. I am still pretty new to the sport, and if someone is going to get stuck in a bad situation.. it's me. She won't even go with me to places with Mud anymore..

NO worries, she is game, I need her there to keep me out of trouble anyways.

Oh, I do understand. Every comment you just made in regards to Bianca could be used to perfectly describe my wife, Andrea. Andrea is not like other girls either. She hates shopping, worships hiking, and thinks I'm the world's biggest idiot for wheeling a $32,000 truck. She was ready to leave me when I blew the rear diff.

Durango has countless miles of hiking right off Main street. Andrea would gladly join her for a never ending walk through the woods.

This is friggin awesome! I really want to make this but can't commit yet. I wanna take another picture at the 4 corner monument.

My 2003 visit. Look at me... four different places at one time!

The most popular pose is the back bend with one limb in each state. Doubt too many thirty something men can pull it off too well though.

Oh yeah, she's wonderful but you just can't live your life in fear of breaking shit. You'll miss out on too many things.
