Need tire recommendations for a 1991 Toyota pickup. I need somthing that will run snow/ice but also do decent off-road in the mountains and not break the bank at $400a tire.

Any ideas?

Been running Cooper AT 4S on my 2001 4Runner for a couple years now. I had them on when the freeze hit Texas; they got great on the worst of it. The tires also have a 60k or 65k mile warranty on them.

And welcome to TOR.

Toyo A/T3's are ice rated and reasonably priced.

General Grabber ATX has entered the chat.

Severe Snow Rated, 60k mi warranty, made in America, affordable. Price obviously depends on size.

I’m a fan of the copper discoverer S/T Maxx. Had them on one of my trucks for a few years now and been happy with them.

Definitely a sexy tire. If I had a second set of tires for special use only it would be MTRs or S/T Maxx tires.

I have zero recommendations on a tire for the snow/ice. When it snows here I don't go anywhere until its gone.

Hahah I’m from Montana where it’s below freezing and icy 7months of the year....if I waited for it to disappear I’d never do anything and probably weigh 800lbs 😂

Yeah central Texas just shuts down when it's below freezing. I spent a year near the Arctic Circle so I know cold.. and I do miss it.

I do not envy the cold; but I would not mind being that close to the mountains in the summer and hunting season.

ive had a few sets of Toyos over the years and I liked them. They lasted a long while and the overall handling especially ice and snow is great, but damn if they aren’t a heavy tire.

The weight and grip are what Iike about the Cooper AT 4S. They are lighter than the regular AT and wear really well. In the smaller motor vehicles that 5 or 6 lb difference is a big deal T each wheel.
