Non-Toyota Toys

Figured I would get this idea started. We have a pretty good collection of motorcycles, boats, and non-Toyota toys that we spend time on as well.

Today I put a couple hours on the Tenere 700 getting used to dirt roads and water crossings again. The picture is from the first crossing; the rest of them were a good bit deeper. Now the bike has 328 miles on it.

I spent some time on dirt roads, river rocks and sand today on the less-new Yamaha Tenere 700. It did get it's 600 mile break in oil change on Thursday; so I guess it is not "new" anymore. I spent half the riding with a buddy who has raced dirt bikes competitively since we were in high school. Overall I did okay in the sand but I still flopped it over twice; but nothing was damaged.

I spend the morning at a local motorcycle off road park to work on the suspension settings on my Tenere 700. There is a 2.5 mile loop that is the "big bike" loop with a good mix of sand, dirt, rocks, ups and downs. Overall a great place to work on skills. I have a good bit to go still but today was a good day.

This video is the last 1/3 of that loop.

It was time to do some refresher work on one of the bikes. The '97 Fat Boy needed the seals replaced in the forks. I replaced the suspension springs with a set rated for more weight. Overall the work was not difficult; just a pain in the ass doing it with all the oil and road grime.

Back together and getting back from the test ride. The old bike looks good from 20 feet.
