I'm not trying to kick anyone out... but this trip was designed via text messages for the more difficult route, We also discussed breaking it up into two groups.. but its early in the planning stages.

I may be able to get a winch myself before the trip, but definitely not a locker.. I was pricing out and I don't have $2000 for all the parts and install. But $300 for a winch I could do.
I was mostly joking about being kicked out. I'm happy to try anything.

Superwinch makes some good stuff at a reasonable price. My old crawler had a 8500 on it that I only used to recover others.

Good to know. It was highly rated on Amazon. So I put it on my consideration list. Superwinch is on there as well.

Superwinch tiger shark 9500. Steel cable is about $300 on amazon. Synthetic is $475 on prime last I looked. I had that winch on my last truck. No issues. A few others here also have it and no problems.

Yeah, doubtful I'll be able to let go of 1300 bucks for tires for this trip and then still get the other gear I want to pick up. Unless of course I can convince my mother that her poor college student needs fresh tires to safely drive home to visit her . I'm even starting to think about not getting that digital ham radio with APRS and just pick up the analog dual band to save $60 that I could put toward an Eno rain fly. Also want to get one of those camp stoves like Blake has. I liked that thing
