[did this awhile back, just moving the info over to it's new home]
So, because I really don't like having to attach a hose to my compressor every time I want to fill my tires, I decided to install an air hose reel in the side of my Tacoma's bed. Here's the pics
Pulled out the one of the storage boxes to make space and drilled the mounting holes
There was a support piece for the bed right in the middle of where the reel mounting bracket was going to sit.
So, I just cut the middle section out with my grinder.
Mounted Up
Ran air hose from my compressor and connected it to the real near the cubby over the wheel well
(the hose on top is my rear diff breather)
I was going to make a new fiberglass cover for the hole, but it didn't work out.
Sometimes sacrifice is required for greatness, so I took the plunge.
Painted the mounting bolts and put everything back together
Now filling the tires is oh so easy, just reach underneath and grab the hose!
Here's how I connected the hose to my ARB Compressor.
Keep in mind that ARB uses BSP pipe threading and all of the fittings you'll find at the hardware store are NPT.
Even though it works fine, thanks to excessive amounts of Teflon paste, I jacked the threads on my ARB parts
