I suspect we would also be increasing now had we not gotten hit so hard up front. With time people start to feel invincible or that it can't happen to them then they let their guard down. I suspect we are climbing but the numbers are jaded. Guess we will see in 2 weeks time. I can tell you traffic while not back to normal is more dangerous than ever. Everyone's driving like complete nutz. I'm doing 80mph in the slow lane and getting my doors blown off my people who think they are racecar drivers. I don;t get that - Ive been super cautious

My morning dive in times for a 7am start in the office have gone from 1hr to 30min to now back up to 45 min.

My 6am starts haven't changed much, not that many people on the roads at 5am pre or post covid.

My go home commute times are completely fubar due to construction. Either 30 min all the way up to 2hrs on a Friday in shore traffic.

Local universities are hitting the panic button a little late. Getting a huge influx of requests for covid guards. Guess they were out of their offices until recently. Here I was thinking the craziness would end and it had slowed down, but now it's back up to a tidal wave of requests

I don't even go to the sites anymore - just have them send me pics and I mark them up and send a quick rough elevation w/my quotes. This is one of 20+ desks these guys want pricing on. Then I ask them about their gym situation in regards to guards and they look at me like a deer in headlights Don't mind the white box's just keeping my clients info confidential.

hey now - I was born into this - blame my folks.........even though when they bought 60 years ago it was not restricted and we had a backyard range





If my relationship with my financial client was not soooo good I'd of lost them and would be eating OSHA fines today. One of my guys decided he was too cool for his mask yesterday so he decided to not wear it for hrs and they have him on video acting like the fool he is. Tomorrow he's is fired at the end of the day and if not for the CBA I'd of canned him immediately today. The shit show him being a jackass just landed me in is unbelievable. Literally biting the hand that feeds us all

Now Im stuck sending out e-mails to all employees and a ton of other bullshit. They were all warned prior by me verbally and in writing - now Ive got to think about if I want to write up his coworkers for not self policing. The foreman is for sure getting written up - he's the boss onsite and let it happen for hrs. Might let the others go because technically I can't discipline them,but a write up is not discipline - it's toothless. All we can do per the CBA is hire and fire - I just use write ups to avoid legal battles if SHTF

Ive always thought that 10% of employees at any job are not worthy of being paid. From Drs and Lawyers to cops and crossing walk guards.

fun with unions is - we fire and then one of our competitors gets stuck with them. Very hard to fire a employee from the union all together when you get red tape and pensions in the mix

had a guy get busted for submitting a false injury claim on one of my jobs two years ago - I can't legally warn the next company he goes to and he is still in the union

all I know is there are a TON of land for sale right now and the small acreage cabin lots are being bought up quick. Ill be holding out till I have a little more $$, but Ive got my eye on two lots I like that have 50+ acres and natural springs w/ponds. Once I'm rural and put my own wall up with a fire break or gator filled moat - it will be praise Jesus cold beers all day every day w no concern for what society does outside my walls

thats what I'm thinking. the sales I see are camps that I do not think would of ever been put on the market had the owners been in a good financial situation (looks like they are dumping them based on my observations over the past couple years). Many many small camps up for sale that are newly posted and a ton of them are getting grabbed up quick. That's fine - let the city slickers think their off grid cabin on an acre will become a fantasy homestead. So long as they stay away from the 50+ acre parcels Ill be happy. No one really wants raw land with wetlands like I do so hopefully they don't start educating themselves and start grabbing that stuff up.

Last thing I want to do is end my Friday letting two guys go and collecting company tools from them at my jobsite. Good news for them is we have zero guys sitting in the hall so they will go right back to work for another company and Ill have to wait to get replacements most likely

I am amazed at how many people do not read emails that are titled like that. I was analyst some years ago for a few departments at a pay day loan company. I got really tired of the collectors and customer service reps not reading my emails. One day I sent them something important and put in the middle of it that I would buy the first 2 people lunch who replied back. I only had to buy 1 person lunch that day.

Welp OSHA just gave in on masks and Covid all together so this will be fun to deal with....

Now I can have infected workers stay working and can't force anyone to wear PPE for covid. I can't find anywhere if it is still a record-able incident if caught on a job site. Only people who will win in this battle will be the litigators

And short term rentals will be hurt too. The one thing that is slowing that is that people have WAY more equity these days. This is not 2018 but once forbearance catches up and if a recovery does not happen in the 4th qtr it will be very tough to recover. I think your 12-24 months may be right. We shall see. In the meantime I help all I can deal with their particular situation - divorce, death, birth, and cohabitation will always occur and I will continue to be better at it than 95-98% of those that are in the biz.
