Not the first person to say that. The best advice I have been told is to buy at the bottom.

You think we are at the bottom? I don't.

No one will know if we’re at the bottom, but I’m betting we’re pretty close, especially since from happened on Monday. The markets are kinda in new territory of making records good and bad.

Usually when the mkt goes into a bear mkt, it usually happens in longer period of time, basically the mkt in the past 20 something days went into a bear mkt.

Latest rumor mill is that they are going to shut the nation down tomorrow and keep everyone home. Only allowed to go out for food and medical care.
Already happened in the county Morning Glory is in. No gatherings of anyone unless you are family or home mates. NUTS

Tried to talk my mom into giving me a shopping list now, even though she has a minimum of a months worth of food. Also told her to start rationing what she has to spread it out or so that she knows exactly what she has and how long it will last her. I'm finding it very difficult to change her thinking w/o panicking her. 2 days in a row Ive asked for a list and she keeps being dismissive

I keep a simple spreadsheet with qty, calories, servings, food type, water required to hydrate, and exp date for all my dehydrated SHTF meals. Very simple to keep stock that way. Anytime I order new stuff I add it to the list, print it out, and hang it in my pantry. When I use stuff I mark it off. Same as we have done in any shop Ive run.

What I don't do is restocking dates nor do I keep track of any of my perishable foods and I need to get on the ball w/that. I used to have to do that for a liquor store I managed and that was always fun. Hard part now is you can't factor in the time it takes to get new stock. Guess to little and people get pissed when you run out of their beer on the 4th of July. Too much and it goes bad. Little more important if thats whats feeding you.

Now is the time to buy into a bear market, not cut back on 401k contributions.

No truer words have ever been spoken.

If y’all are wanting to save some cash look into refinancing, rates have never been lower, easy peasy to do. If your able minimum reduce your APR by atleast .5 % or more and plan on living/owning your current house for more than 28months....REFI!

I've considered this, but the promotional rate that we got when we bought a little over a year ago is still lower than what is currently being advertised. I'm going to be interested to see what banks and credit unions drop their rates. I checked USAA and my local CU yesterday and they were still showing pre-rate cut rates.

I'd also kind of like to do it with our TX house that we are trying to sell. Our realtor told us that no one is buying houses since all this stuff started happening, which means that I'm paying double mortgage until this blows over. We have decent equity in the property, so a refi could reduce my payment by about $500/month, but traditionally adds about $5k to the overall principal balance. So I play the game of "will I have that house in 1o months" in my head. Since it isn't my primary residence anymore, I would have to settle for an investment property rate, which is higher than primary residence.

I tried a year ago. They laughed at me. Even for a 15 year. Apparently if you don't want to refi over 100k Mr Pooper could care less.

Made no fiscal sense for me based on the upfront fees charged, but I'm in a very uncommon situation (scheduled to pay off the loan 13 years early with only 5 figures left on the tab and do not want over 100k in mortgage debt).

Only "worst case" issue I foresee is flooding an already stressed supply chain with a bunch of people that have had no time to properly prepare. Release day one...town issues shelter in place. What place do they shelter in? With what resources? With what income?

Just the gubment shirking their responsibility onto society IMHO

Whens the last time you guys looked up outside?

Seeing any planes?

Eerily reminds me of 9/11 the sky's are so quiet. I drive right by PHL multiple times a day and have only seen one small jet take off in days. Used to see like 3 planes per redlight near there.
