Paintball field we attended today isn't allowed to serve lunch anymore.....used to have a deal for 2 hot dogs, can of soda, and small bag of chips for $5. And not crap hot dogs either - pretty good brand if I remember right.

Ref said it was some covid bullshit. IDK.... guy on a grill heating up hot dogs outdoors in the sun wrapping them with tinfoil seems pretty safe to me. I think most logic was pushed to the side when our elected unofficials pulled some of their laws out of their ass for this stuff. Everyone's already using the same air stations, bathrooms, check in cashier....I just don't get it. Fields are barley staying operational due to limited attendees and overbearing shutdowns......kinds sucks to put another nail in their coffin.

This is pissing me off. The agreement was we'd stay home to flatten the curve for a few months. Well the hospitals aren't overwhelmed so let's open everything back up...

62k died from the flu in the US last year.... this is 3-4x worse so far.

I understand something needed to be done and the science was not out so I'm fine with a couple months of being overly protective, but Ive had enough as well.

If you want to open up - do so. if you want to stay home - do so. that said - if you want to stay home I'm tired of paying for it with our gubment printing cash/inflation/killing our economy.

Wasn't the actual numbers last month that actually died from Covid like ~9k people? This doesn't count the number of people who already had pre-existing conditions that died.

IDK - I try to stay away from the news as much as possible. Starting to think now it's just a power/rights grab like they pulled on us after 9/11 w/the "Patriot" act.

200k dead in the US is no joke, but how it was handled and is being handled was/is IMHO. Like to flog anyone & everyopne who politicized it

Actually, panning for gold has been banned where my friends used to pan for gold.

I have tunnel vision right now looking only at things that I can enjoy and control. :)

Just did my final bulk dry good grocery run for the year and my first 'big one' since covid. Holy cow have things changed since Feb when I last went...took me twice as long with one way isles and the whole store reconfigured. Gotta go back tomorrow for frozen/refrig items after I grab 30#frozen blueberries from a local farmer.

If/when the winter lock down comes I should be good to go this time. Diversified my rice and beans and got all my baking needs taken care of (dried fruit/chocolate/flour/nutz/cornstarch/cornmeal/etc.). Also added some more fish - last lock down I only had enough for fish a meal every other week - now Ill have a weekly meal to keep my brain going.

Using my large coolers for long term dry storage of my baking supplies. Had a small issue with very small ants getting into my pantry that scared the heck out of me in spring. I got lucky so they didn't get into much, but I learned a lesson for sure. Found out no matter what kind of cracker they are, if they are packaged like crap with even the smallest holes - those suckers got into them (Ritz/Saltene/etc.).

He was saying it was little ants coming in. But yeah, I agree, a lot of the bugs are already there.

Nope. I love the connotation that being prepared is akin to being crazy - helps me keep my mouth shut around town. Only post this kind of stuff here because we only have one NJ member lol

I wasn't one of the morons standing in a mile long line at the grocery store for half a day to finally get into the store only to find empty shelves a week after the shut down. Nor will I ever be if I can be proactive.

BTW - I haven't bought TP since 2019....

Coupons + bulk dry goods from warehouse = mucho grande savings

Still shopping like I did prior to covid - just amping up my baking supplies. I have a years worth or more of just about everything from floss to food. Same reason I planted a berry patch when I could not get any in early spring during lock down.

most of the time the bugs are brought in with the food/packaging

I'm not taking it to boat quarantine standards like not having any cardboard, but I am aware so I try to minimize it. Got a few blueberry muffin and brownie mix's I left in the original waxed cardboard packaging, but they got frozen. Had to delay my frozen food 'bulk run' because my freezer was/still is lol full of all the flours/rice/meals etc. Been in for 3 days now - should of taken them out yesterday, but time flew by. Stocking up on chicken and steak for my house and my moms tonight when I stop by my buddy's house to have a beer. Mom just ran out from my summer stock run. He works for an Italian food mfg so he gets good meats packaged for restaurants. Price is crazy low - quality pretty good - only downfall is they are packaged for restaurants so the steaks are frozen 4 to a bag so defrosting/cooking them needs to be kinda planned by her. I won't be stocking up on frozen red meat - never have and never will. Like my jerky too much and eat red meat once a week if that.
