If the time comes I'm heading to Gilmer. My uncle is an ex army ranger, gun and knife smith. From there we head to a ranch that a family friend owns.

Waived to my neighbor for 4 years until I decided to stop because the kindness was never returned (I live in a court).

I tell people about my "Wave Test." When you go into a perspective neighborhood, wave. If you want a place where people are engaging look for neighborhoods where they wave back. If you want a place where people 'mind their own business,' look for neighborhoods where they don't wave back.

Two things. After spending a month in Ireland - different town each night - I coined the term "Free Range People." The concept of Free Range Chickens is that a hutch will keep the hen population to about 100 hens - any more and they will cannibalize each other. First thing they do in a commercial hen house is to de-beak them so they can't kill each other. Kinda like gun control for chickens. Camden is a prime example. I am sure parts of Houston are the same.
