Big ass tree. Speaking of clogged gutters I need to get mine cleaned out since the pecan tree has dropped all of its buds.

My neighbor told me he planted it when he first built that house over 40 years ago, and regrets letting it get that big haha. He just moved out and heading to Florida for retirement. Technically it's on his property but they were OK with me getting it cut down. I wanted to get it cut down before he changed his mind.

I had a good buddy of mine fall off a ladder over a year ago and he spent months in the hospital with multiple surgeries and rehab, still does not have the use of his right arm barely at all. I think about that every time I had to go clean the gutters, and decided the price to never have to climb up there and fall off outweighed the cost of getting that tree cut down lol

For sure. I only have gutters on my first floor so no climbing up ontop of the 2nd story.

Ladder falls are the #1 cause of injury for construction. Almost paralyzed/killed my mom and she was only 3 steps up on a 5' ladder. Now she's got 5 fused vertebra and the back injury ultimately led to a hip replacements 2 months ago because she walks so much and the spine injury screwed up her walk and wore into her bone. Ill never forgive myself for seeing her crappy unsafe ladder and not throwing it out immediately regardless of what she said. I tried, but was not forceful enough and I know better from work, then she injured herself.

I have been pricing outdoor/wet rated fans a month or so ago, and HD has a special buy of the day today for fans & lighting.

So I ordered 2 fans to replace the ones on the back patio that were “indoor/outdoor junk”. I think it’s a purty decent price at $103.98 each.

Just buy new plastic blades. Super cheap and simple if the fan is still good & they will never bend due to humidity.

I'd honestly rather have a new fan. Something a little less... fucking ugly. lol Pics of said fugly fan with saggy blades. I guess its not terrible, just rather have something else I guess. :)

This is the new fan we put in the living room a few months back. I really like this one. 12 blades, only downside is that there is no light kit available for it. I am trying to contact electricians this week to come in and install can lights.

If it didn’t come with good blades from the start, trash the whole fan and get a wet rated fan they typically have the better blades/plastic ones.

I like living room fan, hate ask how much, I need to replace ours as well, previous homeowner swapped out fans before we closed, lol didn’t notice until like a year later. Such a cheapass maneuver, sounds like something I would do, lol

Years ago my stepdad and I looked at two identical fans, one was rated for indoor use only and the other was rated for inside/outdoors. The only difference between the two kits was a cheap rubber gasket and the outdoor fan was ~$20+ more. So after that comparison, I just make sure the fan has plastic blades and an LED light since it doesn't really matter what the rating says at that lower price point. I then caulk all the holes on top to fill in any areas that could get water inside of it.

some outdoor fans are actually made different, Hunter back in the day made some true outdoor fans, the motor casings were much different than indoor ones, I hope I have 2 of those older ones under our gazebo, they have held up very well.

The one we have on the patio is weather rated and has plastic blades.
