Time to close in all the walls. Not proud to be using this crappy drywall but it matches existing thickness for rooms I need to match. My pile of 1/2" rock's in the den for the rooms I dont need to feather in the pos patches.

This thing was $3300 7 or 8 years ago. I hope they can fix it. It matches all the other Cafe shit.

We looked at a house that had a super nice kitchen the other day. Like super, super nice. I was curious about the appliances so I looked them up. The oven/stove was around $10k. I about passed out. Didn't even look up the rest of it.

How big was the garage or ability to put up a shop? Let the wife determine if the kitchen appliances are too high speed.

It had a shop already. 24x32 or something like that. The house was about $120k over our budget. We only looked at it because we were already in the area looking at another and were curious. We have no interest in owning a house that big or that expensive.

24x32 is too small, go with less house and more shop. Get a big kitchen and a big shop, that’s where folks spend most of the time. Bedrooms can be bunked beds who gives a fuck lol

You can always sell the appliances to fund the shop
That's prob the best idea.

I'll never understand why people pay more for less. Wolf is one of the least dependable brands you could ever buy.

I've always used consumer reports for all my appliance purchases and havent been let down. Well my dryer and washer are screwed up but that took over a decade of me overloading them and they still work....just gotta kick the dryer from time to time and the washer shakes the whole house lol

The area we're looking to go, that's damn near impossible to get a shop bigger than 24x30 without getting into the $500k range. I just need somewhere big enough to hold my work bench, toolbox, and a beer fridge and still have enough room to pull one vehicle in and have access to it from all sides. Nothing currently on the market that we're interested in.

Man I just signed up for a gig that's 45 minutes away. I enjoy the decompression. Don't shit where you eat. Either work from home or take the drive.
I've had the drive for 10.5 years. I'd much rather have a 15 minute drive. Wouldn't be so bad if it was straight freeway drive but it's just driving through a bunch of small towns with red lights on timers that you get caught at even if you're the only person on the road at 4:30am.

Yeah that blows, my drive is mostly highway. Sounds like your decision has been made for ya then, smaller shop. Maybe make a second story with a loft or something! I am going to add on to mine next year for some more space, my original design was large enough in my mind but in reality I need more space :)

Yeah the shop is just a bonus at this point. I'd honestly take an oversized two car garage. The only problem I have with the current house setup is the two car garage is barely a two car garage. I have to park outside because my side of the garage is taken up by work bench, toolbox, lawn equipment, etc. If I had a garage that was big enough for my crap and both vehicles to park in and a shed for the lawn equipment, I'd be as happy as can be. I do still have access to my dad's shop anytime I need it. He's to the point where he no longer uses it and it's mostly just storage 364 days a year. Not like I do anything more than maintain my vehicles and fix my niece's broken toys anyway.
