I like those LED lights on the back of the TV.. I think I will get a set for the media room. I was watching Guardians of the Galaxy this weekend and thought some ambient light would be nice. I also need some better DVD storage. I'm beyond maxed out and that is not all of them.

A lady at church might be donating this solid oak cabinet to the troop for their garage sale, it’s almost 8’ in length. If the church does not want it or pick up Friday, she will contact me for picking up. If the troop ends up with it, $100 and it’s yours.

That cabinet is nice, but I am not sure I have room for it in my media room. Its pretty full. I have a drawer in the center console thing that is full, and I have one of the cabinets in the living room entertainment cabinets that are loaded as well.. oh and two drawers in the big ass cabinet that holds the TV in the master bedroom. Maybe I just need to thin down my collection of movies. :)

Would be nice if there was a way to get a legit digital copy of all of them since you already paid for them.

True! Back in the day I had a home theater PC and I had software to RIP DVD's to MPEG. I bet I had 400 ripped DVD's (maybe not all legal ) .. but then the digital rights stuff got big and the software no longer worked. Plus the legal risk so I stopped. But it was super slick. A lot of the DVD's/BluRays I have also included a digital download cert but its in the cloud and its on various services so it kinda sucks.

I don't remember the name of it, but there is a digital service that will give you the digital copy if you can prove that you own the original DVD (I think you either submitted a picture of the case, or scanned the disc, or something like that). I don't even remember which friend told me about it, so I'm not sure who I would ask. Unless it's been shutdown for some reason, such a service does exist.

But what do you do if you lose internet? I like having physical copies of at least some movies. No risk of quality degradation either.

Walmart/Vudu did that for a while. Not sure if they still are or not.

Lose upwards of 1k in digital content like my dumb ass just did last week when I cut the cord from Commiecast. 46 purchased movies gone with the flick of a switch... luckily most were crap, but about 20 I'd like to have to watch again.

I'd rather just have them in digital format on a hard drive I own and can backup.

Spent the morning compiling and reading through all my local permit applications (construction/building/fire/electrical/plumbing) and online resources.

Of course they aren't clear so then I spent a while compiling all the questions I need to ask associated with my "remodel due to storm damage" or if that tact is even the best to take.

My town has 1 official, 3 sub-code officials and 1 inspector so I'm getting ready to pucker up. Guy I used to know I got to stamp my drawings last time is no longer working there.

This time I'm going to reach out to a work associate thats a PM for a GC and see what he says prior to contacting any officials.

I need to get this taken care of properly but at the same time want to avoid any potential "red flag statements or actions" that could increase the amount of red tape/politics....:bash:

Vacuum died today. Housekeeper showed me... so I handed her my cordless Milwaukee stick-vac. :) Found a new one on Amazon for under $100 with like 15000 4.5 star reviews... done.. be here tomorrow. Not much to vacuum in the house anyhow, its 95% wood or tile flooring.

first time in a while I had to wear a mask for something other than the coof

good thing about acrylic/siliconized caulk is it peels out easily. Bad thing about it is that it peels out easily.

going to get this door and my front door finally primed/painted and install the new hardware this weekend.

took 2hrs today just to sand the dang frame/cut out old caulk. glad there was minimal rot I had to cut out.

going to try this differently and see how it works out. normally I'd sabd the wood to bare, fill in the cracks w/wood filler, then prime over them. Ive found that wood filler doesn't expand and contract at the same rates so then water seeps into the cracks and rot starts.

took the wood to bare, priming with oil based low perm sealer. coat today then a coat tomorrow of primer should make it waterproof per the label.

hope is that the oil seeps into the cracks and slows them down. then Ill sand/fill/prime whatever is left and then 2 coats of paint

been a while since i used oil based anything.... boy is it so much better than latex. lower application temps, free high, seeps in better

primer/wod looks like crap but thats just because it's so focused in... I sanded with 60 - then 80 - then 120

I can't wait to reside the front of this house. ugliest one on the block for sure. thankfully this siding combo of fake cedar that looks like poo flowing down my walls is only out front

Danka & NP. Thanks for taking it. Those piles were bothering me since we dropped them.

Second coat's looking better. Tomorrow Ill caulk then get in at least one coat of paint. Cut out the rot on my front door with my osculating multi tool. Heading to HD now to see if I can match up the profile.

Been so long doing anything to my house I had forgotten how much I like painting and the prep work. Waiting for caulk to dry now so I can get my first coat on. Was going to prime over the caulk, but I got good paint and good caulk so we shall see what happens w/o primer.

I can't wait another 12-24hrs for the primer to dry if I topcoated the caulk. Today's high is only 5 degree over the lowest temp for the paint & next weeks looking colder. Should of gotten oil based paint... dang latex sucks in the cold

btw - commercial caulk slickers blow for this stuff...tried them on one joint and gave up
