I love my Orbis, I have 4 of thenm around the house... awesome wifi everywhere... even at the furthest area of my backyard (about 100' from the house). I hope they don't take a shit, damn things are $$$.
Yeah I'm hoping this more powerful setup works because if not, then I'll go back with Orbi's. But yeah the price of the new Orbi systems is overpriced and the main reason I didn't go that route (unless I'm forced to lol)

I’m sure you seen the backstop demo ranch built. I expect nothing less. LOL. But serious that looks like a great start.

Haha yeah his is awesome, don't quite have a machine to make the berm that high...I don't plan on doing any crazy shooting here but a place to plink when I get the itch and to zero rifles and pistols without having to pack up and head to a range. Time will tell if the neighbor on the other side calls the cops. I don't have any local police force here, only state troopers, met a few of them and they all seem like decent guys so hopefully they won't give me any troubles lol

I took apart my indoor unit and checked the evaporator A coil to clean it. Looked pretty rusty so didn't want to mess with it too much and cause a leak, but I got the cover partially disassembled and found the inside of the coils looked pretty damn clean, so I just sprayed the outside of the coils with the foam cleaner and rinsed off. I'll call that "good enough", after 18 years of use I think the coils still looked decent, I always try and change the filter every 6 months. Slapped it all back together and she's working good in this heat wave we have out here now.

Well the TP Link Deco 22000 wifi7 routers work great! Much larger units and a much stronger wifi signal than the 14000 series.

So I didn't reallllyyyy need these (jk I do need them  ) but I went ahead and installed them anyways. Apparently we aren't spending enough on the IT portion of our business so I took the liberty of ordering an additional two exterior-rated wifi7 routers.

I installed one on our light pole (this will be a wireless booster so we'll have wifi7 to the end of the pier).

And I installed one at our gate so Mowses, our robot lawn mower, will have full wifi7 signal past our property (this actually has been an issue for us in the past). This is hardwired from the junction box below with a dedicated exterior rated CAT6 cable that I ran when remodeling my house. It's plugged into the back of the Wi-Fi router in the living room.

I took my old Netgear Orbi satellite router over to my moms and put it in her shed at the edge of her property so now she has strong wifi6 coverage over her whole property as well.

"Mowses"... awesome!
Yeah my wife came up with that one. I had named it "Mr. Slave #2" (I'm #1) and she wanted it changed to something more age appropriate for the girls lol

That's Mr Asshole to you
I have been busy around the house the last few weeks getting it ready to sell. Even a newer house has a good bit of prep work. Removing and packing shit, patching holes in the wall from hanging stuff, and a knee size hole from my step daughter practicing gymnastics in her room. Power washing everything, cleaning out flower bed and new mulch, caulk a few spots on the outside, cleaning and more cleaning. Put down some high nitrogen fertilizer and the yard loves it.
New carpet comes Wednesday, and pics on Saturday.

New place is a few exits closer to work. 800 square feet bigger and on an acre. Yes the garage is bigger, but there is plenty of space for a shop and a pool at the new place. Have projects stacking up at the new place. First order of business is epoxy the garage floor, add junction boxes in garage ceiling for more lights, new drawer slides in the entire house, cut down a pine tree, and blow in additional insulation in the attic.

I need a vacation from all this.

Awesome! Congrats on the new place!!!

Picked up an Intex 18'x48" pool yesterday. We've been talking about a pool every year since we bought the house but the money to level our yard was always the deciding factor. I finally bit the bullet this year. Going to have to rent a skid steer to cut down the slope in our back yard to build a pad for it. If the rain for this weekend gets pushed off I'll do it this weekend but if not I'll just work on getting the power ran out to where the pad is going to go. Luckily I already have a 20A circuit on my back porch that was added for a hot tub (who in their right mind would buy a 120v hot tub?!?!?) by a previous owner. All it's used for currently is the string lights around the back yard so I'll just come off of it and run underground to pop up by where the filter and salt supply are going.

Renting this is the best money I've spent on a home project in a long time. My backyard is essentially solid clay so what I've done on this in 2.5 hours would have taken me two days by hand. If I can get the dirt work and frame for the pad done this weekend I'll have some Mason sand delivered this week to make the pad and hopefully set the pool up next weekend.

I wish I had a project that demanded one of those.

With the summer heat coming in I finally got around to cleaning my AC condenser coil, it was absolutely filthy. First time I've cleaned it since I've moved in (and who knows if PO cleaned them or not), if not it's an 18 year old system so it was overdue. Also vacuumed out the old leaves in the bottom of the housing. Going to pull the evaporator this weekend and clean that and change the filter as well. And now looking at these pictures, my house is due for a power wash lol

Took advantage of some cooler weather we had yesterday and got to work building up my shooting backstop. My dad came over for a few hours to help. Got all the posts set and two layers of ties lagged and rebarred together. Used 4x6x12 and some 3/8"x8" galvanized anchor bolts. Probably overkill but I only want to build it once and not have to mess with it leaning or falling over. I plan to do 10 ties high (70"), but I'll leave the 4x6s long in case I want to build it higher. My neighbor two doors down has some left over fill dirt he needs to get rid of anyhow so he said I can have it for free, a short drive over with the kubota and I'll be set! Hoping to get the rest of the ties set this weekend if it's not too hot and it isn't raining.

11 rows up ~6.5 feet and around 23 feet wide, the stacking is complete. I borrowed a buddies impact gun to drive the lags in instead of ratcheting them in. That was enough to convince me to buy a Milwaukee impact this weekend with the father's day sales so it'll be shipped to me early next week lol

Gotta work the next 7 days in a row, so I won't be getting to the fill dirt for at least another week or two but the hardest part is done. I'm going to leave the vertical posts high in case I want to add more height in the future, but I will trim them to be equal height so it doesn't look like a spoon tried to build the great wall of China in NJ

Getting closer. Only a couple more hours left to work on it today before we go to my parents' for Fathers Day. After that, everything will have to be done by hand. should have swung by HD and picked up some laborers. Being the operator and the ground guy is exhausting. Dig, get off and measure, dig some more, get off and measure, level, stake the 4x4s, remeasure, get back on and dig some more, repeat forever. Wish I had a pool to jump in after all this work.

Funny enough, a regular drill works the best for lag or Torx screws. I've driven in thousands of them at this point and switched over to a drill.
Those Fastenmaster or GRK Lag screws are legit. They take a 1/10 the time as a regular lag screw.

that might work in regular wood but I had 120v dewalt drill plug in and it stalled it out. The petrified oak railroad ties are no match for the grk or non impact drills. On standard soft pine would I agree it is probably better. Even my spade bit would get stuck drilling any holes in the tied, had to use one of those long twist or auger bits for pilot holes

this guys video shows the mistakes one might make dealing with railroad ties
lol
