if you do chose a pre made pan mount a 2x4 to the floor right behind the front lip so if anyone kicks the pan your grout doesn't crack. Basically sandwich the pan with wood in the back and tile in front. the wood must be tight against the pan. also I'd stay away from pans that require it be set into mortar - they suck structurally compared to the ones that can handle weight on their own. The self sufficient pans are even better if you add some spray foam to them.

Had my guys put in a small frameless setup at my house. Would have went a lot smoother had Old Castle not made one of my panels wrong TWICE.

They got me again. Glass was supposed to be delivered today. I call the shipping manager at 7am and it never made the truck. Fought with them all day begging that they let me pick it up today on my way home. I get a call at 1:11pm - not going top happen. Next time the salesman comes into our office he better wear a flack jacket. When I worked there a remake was done the next day. They can't even get it done in a week. Just a simple rectangular pc of 3/8" clear tempered with (4) 3/4" holes and (3) relief slots for the holes to close to the edge + all edges polished. Would of taken me 20min tops to fab via hand drill back when I worked there. They got multiple CNC's and can't get it done right in a months time. Disgraceful at best. Their quality and performance has only gone downhill over the years and that blows my mind. Now I know why I was able to steal so much of their customer base when I worked for their competitor - just need to do your job right.

I drove to my buddy's motorcycle shop to tell him face/face today. He was not happy, but did inform me Harleys are basically 100% overseas products now and he's glad everything is metric

Custom pans drive up the cost and labor significantly IMHO. I opted for a premade fiberglass impregnated plastic shower pan with seats in the front and back then tiled the walls myself after putting down cement board and Schluter's water sealing system...think it's Ditra - can't remember it was so long ago.

It's not "baller" status but will NEVER ever leak.

Similar to this but 2' longer and I tiled my walls (shown is a 48" and Ive got a 72")

Also if you do not want to tile - single slabs of glass/marble/man made countertop materials are readily available. Hotels use them for ease of cleaning and to cut down on maintenance and leaking. (2) joints in the corner that are overlapped with the slab is much less likely to leak than 1,000 grout joints. Install is also 100x faster - just gotta measure perfectly

Pretty bad ass. We only use their brand's levels at my work. One of the few tools the boss spends the extra on without prodding from me. Last time we bought a few 6'ers they gave us a free laser rangefinder and it's been rock solid for 2 years of living in the hatchback of my car. Only thing it doesn't like is sub zero temps. Take about 20 minutes to heat up so now I just grab it before my drive and put it under my arm pit for a few minutes before I get to the jobsite

$844 for a corded oscillating tool is insane. You could buy 7-8 Milwaukee osculating battery operated tools for that price.

Maybe because they are calling it a "specialty" tool for cutting glass out of caulk? IDK, but if they think our tradesmen are that stupied they got another thing coming.

That's amazing! My only fear would be that your slab could support those point loads, but that's only because I have no clue how thick they are.

It will definitely hold. This shop was built to service heavy equipment prior to us getting it. I have 16ton gantry cranes in here

Nice! I did one job with 30 entrances and they all had floor closers we had to chip out a 5" wide x 13" long x 4" deep hole to set them in. Building was made to service forklifts in the 1940's so we had some real fun chipping and coring out concrete that was 10,000psi + . Pretty sure my guys hated me on that one

I really love my HF US General tool boxes... I mean for the $$ they are awesome. Earlier this year I saw that HF was going to create a new line aimed to compete with the tool truck boxes. They looked awesome!! Then I saw specs on them and they are pretty awesome. But now I see the prices... and while they are a fraction the price of a tool truck box they are WAY out of my league. As you can see the price of the base box went WAY up... like $1500 up.
